Community-based fact-checking is a promising approach to verify social media content and correct misleading posts at scale. Yet, causal evidence regarding its effectiveness in reducing the spread of misinformation on missing. Here, we performed large-scale empirical study analyze whether community notes reduce X. Using Difference-in-Differences design repost time series data for N=31,758 (community fact-checked) cascades that had been reposted more than 68 million times, found exposing users reduced by, average, 61.4%. Migrants experience unique needs and use social media, in part, to address them. While prior work has primarily focused on migrant populations who are vulnerable socio-economically legally, less is known about how highly educated media. Based on 1,739 submission threads and 21,237 associated comments a COVID-19 U.S. subreddit, we found that labels cued high-source credibility (HSC) predicted more voting commenting behaviors than low-source (LSC). Further examination the potential mediation discrete emotions revealed HSC cues evoked emotion LSC for all emotions.
