Considering the sparse but rapidly growing literature concerning relationship between psychopathy and emotion regulation, taking stock of accumulating knowledge in a systematic review meta-analysis existing results is needed. We performed search (up to May 30, 2024) following PRISMA guidelines five scientific databases (PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, MEDLINE, PubMed, Scopus Web Science). Also, gray was searched. After removing duplicates, total 8.786 records were screened, 73 articles selected based on inclusion criteria used for review. The meta-analytic procedure 55 identified studies consistent with adopted, which overall comprised 29.856 individuals. current has clarified association impairments emotional regulation abilities facets psychopathy. More specifically, analyses indicated that dysregulation associated levels psychopathic traits, as well both lifestyle affective components psychopathy, suggests utility assessing these features when designing interventions focused modulating negative states enhancing impulsive behaviors.

This presents recent studies on associations between adversity PDs, while discussing mechanisms factors that impact these relationships.
