Background:
The
prevalence
of
obesity
and
sleep
disorders
within
the
Italian
workforce
mirrors
a
global
trend
where
sedentary
lifestyles,
poor
eating
habits,
elevated
stress
levels
significantly
contribute
to
these
health
issues.
These
conditions
have
profound
economic
implications,
including
rising
healthcare
costs
diminished
productivity
due
absenteeism
presenteeism,
adversely
affecting
organizational
sustainability
employee
well-being.
Addressing
problems
necessitates
holistic
approach
that
integrates
individual
interventions,
workplace
policies,
broader
societal
changes
promote
healthy
lifestyles.
This
cross-sectional
study
examines
influence
insomnia,
both
individually
combined,
on
work
context
occupational
sustainability.
Materials
Methods:
A
analysis
was
conducted
with
397
participants
from
various
professions
over
six-month
period.
Self-reported
impairments
were
assessed
using
Work
Productivity
Activity
Impairment
(WPAI)
questionnaire.
Body
Mass
Index
(BMI)
Insomnia
Severity
(ISI)
scores
utilized
evaluate
insomnia
levels,
respectively.
Results:
Statistical
analyses
revealed
significant
association
higher
BMI
ISI
reduced
productivity.
Both
independently
synergistically
contributed
losses,
exerting
more
substantial
effect.
