Abstract
The
twenty-first
century
has
become
synonymous
with
two
primary
architectural
concepts:
sustainability
and
digital
technologies.
While
the
former
seeks
less
carbon
footprint
within
built
environment,
latter
drives
a
novel
approach
towards
efficient
effective
productivity.
However,
previous
findings
show
inadequate
study
on
Emerging
Digital
Technologies
(EDTs)
their
Awareness
in
Higher
Educational
Institutions
(HEIs),
especially
Global
South.
In
light
of
this,
primarily
aims
to
evaluate
perceived
students
EDTs
educational
institutions
Ghana.
used
quantitative
approach,
obtaining
data
from
243
respondents
using
questionnaire.
Findings
revealed
were
aware
most
EDTs,
indicating
an
interest
specifically
Computer-Aided
Design
Building
Information
Modelling
software.
little
robotics
nanotechnology.
Furthermore,
that
tools
equipment
are
vital
influences
limit
EDTs.
authors
recommend
HEIs
review
curricula
incorporate
collaborate
agencies
create
environment
for
increase
proficiency
architecture.
There
should
also
be
continuous
capacity
building
HEI
staff
ensure
transfer
relevant
skills
contemporary
industry.
Moreover,
further
studies
must
conducted
into
standardized
framework
introducing
education.

challenges
