The article presents a sensitivity analysis of the carbon footprint for different modes transporting neodymium magnets over selected route, in context their environmental impact and sustainable development. Neodymium magnets, widely used modern technologies such as wind turbines, are essential renewable energy sources, making selection environmentally optimal transportation crucial. calculations included road, rail, inland waterway, air transport, using available emission calculators, which allowed an averaged indicators each mode transport. Additionally, comparative was conducted with SimaPro program to verify consistency accuracy results. findings indicated that rail access low-emission infrastructure reduced per unit mass, is most efficient option CO2 emissions reduction, whereas despite its speed, generates highest ton cargo, it least friendly alternative. A t-test also statistically validate results option.

Published: Jan. 6, 2025

The urgency of addressing climate change has amplified the need for sustainable manufacturing practices. This review explores integration carbon footprint management and energy efficiency strategies within Industry 4.0 technologies ERP systems, emphasizing their role in achieving environmental sustainability. Despite increasing interest these domains, literature reveals critical gaps, particularly application technologies—such as IoT, big data analytics, AI—for effective manufacturing. Furthermore, limited exploration systems tracking, analyzing, optimizing emissions across supply chains highlights another under-researched area. paper systematically reviews recent advancements, methodologies, implementation challenges, categorizing findings under strategies, green chain management, digital transformation reduction. study identifies opportunities real-time monitoring, predictive cross-sector collaborations while obstacles such high initial costs, complexities, lack regulatory frameworks. By bridging research this contributes a comprehensive understanding how can transform providing actionable insights academia, policymakers, industry practitioners aiming to align with global sustainability goals.

Carbon farming has become increasingly popular as it integrates agriculture, forestry, and diverse land use practices, all crucial for implementing European strategies aimed at capturing 310 million tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. These methods were proven to reliably increase amount stored in soil. However, there is a lack discussion consensus regarding standards used report these values their implications. This article analyzes sequestration rates, calculation methodologies, communication procedures, well potential co-benefits best practices. The average rates major staple crops range very low (0–0.5 Mg/ha/yr) medium (1–5 Mg/ha/yr). Scientific agricultural experiments key global demonstrate positive 4.96 Mg C ha−1 yr−1 wheat–maize rotations 0.52–0.69 rice–wheat rotations. In are reported using different terms that not consistent pose challenges. assessment involves systematic review scientific literature, including articles, reviews, book chapters, conference papers indexed Scopus 2001 2022. Specifically, this focuses on long-term experiments, meta-analyses, reviews an soil stock. research trends observed, through VOSviewer 1.6.18 analysis, show steadily increasing interest field sequestration.
