Abstract In pathological examinations, gastric ulcers are often detected in South American camelids. The aetiology cannot be clarified every case. However, tumour-related observed repeatedly. This study reports clinical, laboratory and findings six alpacas, three each with adenocarcinoma- squamous cell carcinoma-associated ulcers. Clinically they were presented general symptoms like emaciation, anorexia recumbency. Laboratory of these animals non-specific. All at least nine years old. adenocarcinomas as well the carcinomas metastasised various organs, especially lymph nodes. Two adenocarcinoma-associated perforated. summary, can lead to ulcerative lesions gastrointestinal tract. Although neoplasms rare overall, should considered a possible differential diagnosis case non-specific symptoms. particular, older seem affected more frequently.

Oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC), a subset of head and neck (HNSCC), involves the palatine tonsils, soft palate, base tongue, uvula, with ability to spread adjacent subsites. Personalized treatment strategies for Human Papillomavirus-associated oropharynx (HPV+OPSCC) are yet be established. In this article, we summarise our current understanding pathogenesis HPV+OPSCC, intrinsic role immune system, ICI clinical trials, potential small molecule immunotherapy in HPV+OPSCC.

The understanding of the relationship between immunological responses and cancers, especially those related to HPV, has allowed for study development therapeutic vaccines against these neoplasias. There is a growing number studies about composition influence tumor microenvironment (TME) in progression or establishment most varied types cancer. Hence, it been possible structure immunotherapy approaches based on that are even more specific directed components TME immune response associated with tumors. Among dendritic cells (DCs), which main professional antigen-presenting (APCs) already studied therapy strategies HPV-related cancers. On other hand, tumor-associated macrophages also potential targets since profile present infiltrates, M1 M2, influences prognosis some These two cell can be immunomodulation. In this context, our review aims provide an overview HPV-positive tumors, such as cervical head neck pointing promising approaches. This explores cancer treatment, including checkpoint inhibitors, cytokine immunotherapies, vaccines, therapies. Furthermore, highlights importance its effect design achievement immunotherapeutic methods.

HNSCC remains a substantial health issue, with treatment options including surgery, radiation, and platinum-based chemotherapy. Unfortunately, despite progress in research, only modest gains have been made disease control, existing treatments resulting significant functional quality-of-life issues. The introduction of immunotherapy the has resulted some improvements outlook for patients is now standard care populations both recurrent metastatic disease. However, early successes, responses to immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) remain low, approaching 14%-22% objective response rates. In this Review, we explore mechanisms responsible resistance, dissect these challenges, discuss potential opportunities overcoming hurdles development successful HNSCC.

Abstract Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) has been developed as a marker of burden in human papillomavirus (HPV)‐positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC). Inflammatory indices are also increasingly being used prognostic surrogate markers solid tumors, including head and neck cancers. The relationship between ctDNA levels inflammatory not studied HPV‐associated OPSCC. We hypothesize that higher inflammation associated with levels. Herein, we demonstrate an association high pretreatment specific indices, which may be lower‐cost HPV act for the body's immune response to HPV‐positive

Introduction: Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte (LMR), and pallets-to-lymphocyte (PLR) are currently validated as cheap accessible biomarkers in different types of solid tumors, including head neck cancers (HNC). The purpose the study: To evaluate possible purposes biomarker value NLR, PLR, MLR recorded pre-treatment (radiotherapy/chemotherapy) HNC. Materials methods: From 190 patients with HNC included oncology records outpatient clinic Craiova County Emergency Hospital (from January 2002 to December 2022), 39 cases met inclusion criteria (squamous cell carcinoma possibility calculate (chemotherapy/radiotherapy) MLR. Overall survival (OS) values were correlated Results: median for 6.15 (1.24–69), 200.79 (61.3–1775.0), 0.53 (0.12–5.5), respectively. In study, mean 2.88, 142.97, 0.36, respectively, obtained. OS study group was 11 months (1–120). Although a negative Pearson’s correlation present, relationship between variables only weak, R = 0.07, p 0.67, 0.02, 0.31, 0.62 being related MLR, OS. calculated (1.53, 90.32, 0.18, respectively) NLR < 2 ≥ 6 (23.5, 232.78, 0.79, respectively). 17.4 13 months, Conclusions: comparative analysis data highlights benefit low NLR. role not borderline (between 6) prognostic marker HNSCC but also PLR score must be defined future.
