Plastic waste poses a significant environmental challenge. To address this issue, the pyrolysis process offers promising solution to convert plastic into valuable products. This study investigated of sourced from Hat Yai municipal landfill, aiming optimize conditions and characterize resulting The was classified three primary types: polyethylene terephthalate (PET) (7 wt %), polypropylene (PP) (23 (PE) (70 %). Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) revealed that decomposed completely within temperature range 520-600 °C. conditions, experiments were conducted on both unwashed water-washed waste, varying particle size, catalyst type, loading. Nickel- cobalt-based zeolite catalysts (Ni/HZSM-5 Co/HZSM-5) employed enhance process. results indicated medium-sized, pyrolyzed at 560 °C with 5 % Co/HZSM-5 catalyst, yielded highest oil (47.42 ± 1.00 %) high heating value (HHV) 38.06 0.67 MJ/kg. further process, central composite design (CCD) response surface methodology (RSM) utilized investigate effects loading yield HHV. Optimal determined for washed waste. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) optimum proportion hydrocarbon compounds similar fossil fuels, including gasoline, jet fuel, diesel. successfully optimized catalytic in improvement product quality. use 5% proved be effective enhancing These findings provide insights sustainable management production resources.
