Predicting health trajectories and accurately measuring aging processes across the human lifespan remain profound scientific challenges. Assessing effectiveness impact of interventions targeting is even more elusive, largely due to intricate, multidimensional nature aging-a process that defies simple quantification. Traditional biomarkers offer only partial perspectives, capturing limited aspects landscape. Yet, over past decade, groundbreaking advancements have emerged. Epigenetic clocks, derived from DNA methylation patterns, established themselves as powerful biomarkers, capable estimating biological age assessing rates diverse tissues with remarkable precision. These clocks provide predictive insights into mortality age-related disease risks, effectively distinguishing chronological illuminating enduring questions in gerontology. Despite significant progress epigenetic clock development, substantial challenges remain, underscoring need for continued investigation fully unlock their potential science aging.
