Background: Parents of children suffering from congenital heart disease experience high levels stress and negative emotions. Therefore, recognition parents’ emotional states their ways coping with it is becoming more important. Methods: The study group consisted 154 parents newborns infants cyanotic disease, before after cardiac surgery (partial or full). To assess parental emotions, the level stress, strategies it, standardized questionnaires, such as HADS-M, PSS-10, COPE, were used. Results: Stress in associated emotions (anxiety, depression, irritability), well choice non-constructive strategies, which was observed especially younger parents. Conclusions: Assessing can improve family functioning provide better development conditions for child.

Background/Objectives: Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common birth defect worldwide, with a prevalence rate of 2.78 per 1000 births. CHD, as any chronic illness, poses certain risk comorbidities. The psychiatric disorders in adults suffering from CHD high 12.4%, and pediatric patient group, this figure over 35%. Methods: An extensive literature search was conducted reputable databases, such PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, timeframe November 2024 to March 2025. Ultimately, we selected 146 articles be included review. Results: Depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum PTSD are amongst frequently occurring. concomitant mental disorder an increased complications, worsening both cardiological outcomes. Conclusions: multidisciplinary illness that needs treated caution screening for it should integrated investigations comorbidities, using scales HADS BDI-2, while considering their moderate accuracy. Prevention, early detection, intervention CHDs necessary steps healthcare, not omitting education. quality life also influenced by CHDs, failure has been confirmed independent factor diminishing QoL levels. In addition this, extrapolates need establishment standardized guidelines regarding topic.
