Commercial Buildings release large volumes of greenhouse gases, expediting global warming. The commercial building industry accounts for 37% CO2 emissions. Geothermal energy technologies are an intriguing solution that provides a low-impact, emission-free, and cost-effective thermal fuel source baseload production. systems offer potential to dramatically halt warming facilitate the transition carbon-neutral civilization. This study develops framework assessing geothermal power capabilities innovative house district heating systems. requirements first assessed, then spatial evaluation infrastructure is carried out using Python-based program. Economic comparisons between fossil fuels made LCC analysis. Environmental impacts measured by Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). compares fuels, LCA results show has low environmental impact. With Net Present Value (NPV) 34.81 USD, it displays economic viability as well satisfactory financial return. study's findings ability compete with in applications while still being environmentally beneficial.

Abstract Historically heavily reliant on coal, Indonesia is at a crucial juncture to accelerate its transition renewable energy in order meet net‐zero goals. However, most pathways generally do not focus the fast from fossil fuels achieve carbon neutrality. This study compares techno‐economic feasibility of three distinctive pathways. The pathway, with an accelerated coal energy, leads 42% reduction annualised system cost and achieves neutrality by 2050, compared pathway dependent continued investments. enabled competitiveness solar photovoltaics‐based electrification system, supported batteries, transmission grid expansion across main islands, various power‐to‐X routes for flexibility. Furthermore, should carefully consider environmental impact large‐scale palm oil cultivation biofuel expansion. We find that land efficiency e‐fuel production much higher than cultivating synthesis. Thus, towards will bring direct indirect benefits Indonesia.

Abstract Indonesia has large renewable energy resources that are not always located in regions where they needed. Sub-sea power transmission cables, or island links, could connect Indonesia’s high-demand islands, like Java, to large-resource islands. However, the role of links transition been explored a limited fashion. Considering current fossil fuel dependency, this is critical knowledge gap. Here we assess full sector decarbonisation via system optimisation modelling and an extensive scenario sensitivity analysis. We find be crucial by providing access most cost-effective across country, onshore photovoltaics (PV) hydropower from Kalimantan geothermal Sumatera. In 2050, 43 GW inter-island lines enable 410 p PV half total generation, coupled with 100 storage, at levelised costs 60 US$(2021)/MWh. Without Java still supplied locally, but 15% higher due larger offshore floating storage capacity requirements. Regardless degree interconnection, biomass, hydro, remain important dispatchable generators least 62 23% generation throughout all tested scenarios.
