In this paper, the validity of application an autocorrelation function for resolving some surface topography measurement problems was presented. Various types surfaces were considered: plateau-honed, honed with burnished dimples, ground, turned, milled, laser-textured, or isotropic. They measured stylus and non-contact (optical) methods. Extraction selected features, such as form waviness (defined L-surface) high-frequency noise (S-surface) from raw data, supported function. It proposed to select analysis procedures both profile (2D) areal (3D) analysis. Moreover, applications various regular (available in commercial software) methods, least-square-fitted polynomial planes, Gaussian (regression robust) functions, median filter, spline approach, fast Fourier transform scheme, evaluation parameters ISO 25178 standards.

The paper presents the results of research aimed at evaluating surface topography including analysis number unmeasured points samples 3D printed using four additive technologies (i.e., PolyJet Matrix, fused deposition modeling, selective laser sintering, and melting). were made in three variants location on printing platform printers. Measurements samples’ carried out a Talysurf CCI Lite optical profilometer PGI 1230 contact profilometer. percentage non-measured for each sample parameters determined. Then, complemented corrected recalculated. In addition, to perform comparative measurements, was measured 1230. Preliminary showed that measurement sintering technology with Taysurf measuring system is very unreliable, as analyzed higher than 98%. highest accuracy obtained PJM printer.
