The aim of the research was to determine impact antifriction coatings on technical condition marine diesel engine bearings. Various epilams were used as coatings, with a thin layer applied surfaces bearings engines 12V32/40 MAN-Diesel&Turbo. thickness epilam coating adsorbed metal surface controlled by ellipsometry. It found that could reach 11.2 nm 17.0 nm. adsorption time required does not exceed 10 min. shown nanolayer led an increase in structural characteristics oil boundary (thickness: from 12.3 µm 15.2–18.3 µm; contact angles: 10.2 deg 15.8–17.4 deg). experimentally confirmed bearing significantly reduced their wear. For MAN-Diesel&Turbo engine, case epilaminating, wear shell 6.1–27.6%, greatest reduction occurring for stern (most loaded) This helped maintain engines.
