Informal green spaces (IGSs) are vital yet under-researched urban areas that enhance biodiversity, provide ecosystem services, and improve the well-being of residents. However, lack a consistent definition comprehensive understanding their multifunctional roles has hindered effective integration into planning. The current literature review aimed to clarify concept IGSs, analyze research trends, identify further areas. Using combined bibliometric systematic analysis approach, 150 articles from Web Science database, published 1996 2024, were analyzed. identified 54 relevant documents on effects areas, revealing diverse growing body including types, distribution, socioeconomic contexts. findings indicated an increasing trend in collaborative studies, using “informal space” as official term. This proposed clear IGS, emphasizing its visibility, formal recognition, minimal management, spontaneous vegetation, temporary nature underscoring substantial environmental social benefits. Furthermore, this highlighted need for standardized definitions interdisciplinary studies fully harness potential thereby essential contribution biodiversity regulation microclimates.

Global warming has led to irregular precipitation patterns and various abiotic biotic stresses, resulting in unforeseen consequences for wildlife. Plant species are particularly vulnerable these global climate changes, struggling adapt the increasing stressors. Urban environments exacerbate challenges, further hindering plant survival growth. The declining number of climate- urban-tolerant is a direct consequence escalating stresses. However, resistance breeding approaches coupled with environmentally friendly technologies like biostimulants offer hope by expanding pool adaptable species. vegetation plays vital role mitigating urban heat island effect, supporting mental well-being among residents, preserving biodiversity. In this study, we comprehensively review recent research findings on topics focus publications from past 5 years. Emphasizing stress-tolerant ornamental plants including trees herbaceous becomes crucial establishing sustainable living practices. By incorporating resilient varieties into landscapes, can enhance ecological balance while improving overall quality both human inhabitants wildlife populations.

This paper aims to analyze and compare the structure of tree herbaceous plant communities in three temperate forest ecosystems located south Olt County, Romania. The research consisted determining composition by frame quadrats sampling method taxonomic determination species. community was analyzed based on structural indices such as arithmetic mean individuals (X), standard deviation (SD), confidence limits (LC), percentage density (DP), frequency (F), constant (C), relative significance index (W) dominance (ID). results indicated that shows differences depending studied area, but this remains complex uneven. In case trees, species Crataegus monogyna, Quercus robur or Acer campestre tend influence more due an uneven distribution a significant number individuals. As regards species, out 34 identified, only two were noted be present all sites, namely Geum urbanum Viola canina, which reflects higher adaptability their case.

With the increasing urban environmental problems, spontaneous vegetation has been gradually emphasized for high ecological value, whose distribution reported as strongly influenced by fine-scale factors. As one of major zones distribution, riparian corridors are well suited research on response plants to microhabitats. Taking Wenyu River-North Canal in Beijing study site, we measured six microhabitat factors, including level maintenance and visitor activity, canopy density, litter thickness, distance water road, investigate their effects plant assemblages. The results showed that respond significantly habitat variation, were more responsive human disturbance than other Compared with diversity indicators, functional trait compositions correlated Under lower plants, communities had a higher invasion risk plants. Thick can impede occurrence invasive species while favoring growth native ones. Our findings important furthering understanding community establishment, serve good reference management corridors.
