The temporal variation in a community of nocturnal and diurnal Lepidoptera was studied Mediterranean mid-mountain area the SW Iberian Peninsula between 2017 2019. Monthly samplings that allowed for identification 3528 specimens, belonging to 373 species from 40 different families, also provided data on seasonal richness abundance (dominated by Geometridae Noctuidae), diet type (mainly oligophagous), voltinism (mostly univoltine) biogeography community, primarily scope. Richness, diversity were found be highly positively correlated with temperature solar radiation, less negatively precipitation humidity. Canonical correspondence analyses (CCAs) indicate radiation are climatic variables greatest influence occurrence over months year. CCAs gave cumulative variance value 84.79% when using monthly mean values temperature, minimum relative humidity, 86.4% if only monovoltine considered. Guidelines maintain environment study provided. It is possible may function as refuge face climate change deforestation occurring geographical environment.
