In order to understand the diel vertical migration and transport pattern during their early life stages, distribution of larvae juveniles small yellow croaker (Larimichthys polyactis) in Yangtze River estuary was investigated. Four sampling cycles were carried out at station (122°39′ E, 31° N) May June 2015. The samples collected by vertically discrete plankton hauls three strata water column: surface (0~2 m depth), middle (8~10 bottom (18~20 depth). total number 5523, which 65.2% 25.8% postflexion juveniles, respectively. Most individuals mid-May, sum quantity accounted for 94.8%. all cruises, highest abundance occurred bottom, while maintained lowest abundance. flexion larvae, moved up night, but there no significant difference between night daytime preflexion each stratum. showed low temperature responses a preference habitat, respectively, had weaker selectivity layer occurrence time. significantly higher flood tide than ebb tide, it more dominant day. study indicates that change located depth with utilize faster speed mid-upper layer, contributes ingress into nursery ground.

Surf zones are important nursery grounds for fish larvae and juveniles. However, little is known about juveniles in the surf zone along coast of Jiangsu Province. To describe species composition juveniles, monthly collections were conducted at eight stations during spring tide from February 2024 to January 2025. The sampled using a seine net (1m × 4m; 1 mm mesh aperture), with sampling repeated three times each station per month. A total 1435 collected, belonging 42 37 genera 21 families. Almost half them postflexion larvae. Gobiidae, 14 species, was most diverse family. Based on index relative importance (IRI) result, dominant Amoya pflaumi, accounting 35.33% number individuals collected. Common Mugil cephalus, Amblychaeturichthys hexanema, Tridentiger trigonocephalus, Acanthogobius ommaturus, Mugilogobius abei, Thryssa mystax, Periophthalmus modestus, Sillago sihama, myxodermus. All other classified as rare. No or collected number, catch unit effort (CPUE), Margalef’s richness index, Pielou’s evenness Shannon–Wiener diversity showed similar trends, significant differences could be found parameter among months. cluster analysis ten months (excluding 2025) indicated seasonal change community structure Fish abundant one near an aquaculture tidal flat seaweed. This study provides essential basic data support management conservation fishery resources

This study is to explore the alleviating effects of glutamate on intestinal damage in cultured little yellow croaker. A total 900 juvenile fish at a weight 30.68 ± 0.12 g were randomly separated into six groups with three replicates each, and fed basic diet (protein 44.42% lipid 12.48%) additional 0.00%, 0.40%, 0.80%, 1.2%, 1.60%, 2.00%. Each replica group consisted 50 breeding barrel (radius 1.0 m, height 1.5 m), experiment lasted for 54 days. The results showed that supplementation 0.4–1.2% significantly improved survival rate, which increased from 75.56% 91.11%, reduced feed conversion rate 1.75 1.57, protein efficiency ratio 1.55 1.85 (p < 0.05). In intestines, addition 0.40–1.2% muscle thickness villus 0.05), as well activities pepsin, trypsin, α-amylase, lipase Enzyme activity analysis indicated enhanced serum Total Superoxide Dismutase (T-SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) antioxidant enzymes Transcriptome 1.2% 0% revealed differentially expressed genes enriched synthesis, nutrient absorption metabolism, viral interaction cytokine receptor pathways. qPCR experiments verified up-regulated expression antioxidant-related genes, including synthetase Nrf2. conclusion, can enhance growth performance, increase digestive capacity, activate synthesis alleviate damage, maintain health.
