Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major risk factor for the development of periodontal disease and aggravates severity conditions. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are known to degrade ligament attachment bone matrix proteins. Increased expression CD147 associated with increased synthesis several MMPs, being modulator MMP expression, including that MMP-14. The purpose this study was quantify compare expressions MMP-14 in gingival tissues patients without type 2 diabetes mellitus. Material Methods: In histological study, we included 33 subjects disease: 16 DM (test group) 17 systemically healthy (control group). Tissue fragments were processed using an immunohistochemistry technique determine immunoreactivity (IR) intensity CD147. Results: group periodontitis, 56.2% showed weak positive (+), while 43.8% had intensely (+++) Statistically significant differences between test control groups (p = 0.004, p 0.883, 0.002) found membranous IR moderate (++) CD 147, (+++). 0.001, 0.002, 0.003) Conclusions: significantly higher 147 demonstrates role these biomarkers pathology patients. It can be assumed could further investigated as potential predictive biomarkers.

Background: Insulin resistance (IR) is a metabolic disorder linked to type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Visceral fat better predictor of IR than BMI waist circumference due its inflammatory impact. Methods such as DEXA bioimpedance (BIA) estimate body fat, while scales METS-IR, SPISE, TyG assess risk. This study analyzes the utility visceral measured by BIA compared other indicators. Methods: A cross-sectional was conducted on 8590 workers in Balearic Islands, analyzing anthropometric, clinical, analytical variables. Body were bioimpedance, insulin assessed using TyG. ROC curves used evaluate predictive value BMI, WC, fat. Results: The areas under curve (AUCs) highest for high particularly women (>0.97), indicating excellent performance. showed lowest AUC, especially men. AUC all scales. Youden’s indices with good capacity, low values, limiting predicting resistance. Conclusions: Measuring superior or WC estimating

Background. In patients with diabetes mellitus, pathologic changes occur in multiple organs and systems, the pathogenesis of which involves inflammatory reactions. The chronic process can lead to development anemia. Several red blood cells have been found affect processes hemoglobin glycation, making it difficult diagnose carbohydrate metabolism disorders. aim present study was analyze relationship between level glycated (HbA1c) concentration erythrocyte parameters. Materials methods. A complete count HbA1c levels were analyzed 756 subjects (443 women 313 men) who underwent examination at MeDis laboratory (Lviv) 2020. Background Gut microbiota is reported to be related the onset of insulin resistance (IR) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The dietary index for gut (DI-GM) a novel reflecting diversity. We aimed evaluate association DI-GM with T2DM IR. Methods This cross-sectional research comprised 10,600 participants aged ≥20 from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2007–2018. employed weighted multivariable linear logistic regression models examine correlation Linear or nonlinear relationships were examined by restricted cubic spline (RCS) regression. Additionally, subgroup sensitivity analyses performed ensure reliability results. Mediation analysis explored roles body mass (BMI) inflammatory factors in these associations. Results Higher inversely associated (OR = 0.93, 95%CI: 0.89–0.98) IR 0.95, 0.91–0.99) after adjusting confounders. ≥ 6 group showed significantly lower risks 0.74, 0.60–0.91) 0.77, 0.62–0.95). RCS demonstrated relationship between T2DM, as well was also correlated risk markers T2DM. that BMI systemic inflammation response partly mediated IR, while immune-inflammation only Conclusion mediating this association.
