Background/Objectives: The repetitive overhead throwing of baseball stresses the posterior shoulder, including rotator cuff and capsule, causing stiffness, tissue thickening, dysfunction. Previous studies on collegiate players have linked these changes to glenohumeral internal rotation deficits, pain, injuries. However, primarily used acoustic radiation force impulse-based shear wave elastography (SWE), which has limitations, heating lack portability. acute effects pitching infraspinatus (ISP) muscle elasticity in high school pitchers remain unclear. Therefore, this study aimed evaluate impact ISP using continuous SWE (C-SWE), is a safer more portable method. relationship between load was also examined. Methods: velocity (SWV), shoulder range motion, strength were evaluated pitchers. participants categorized into non-pitching groups based whether they pitched with full effort day their medical checkup. C-SWE assess elasticity. Results: group had considerably higher SWV dominant side than (p = 0.008). A significant positive correlation observed pitch (r 0.467, p 0.003). Conclusions: Repetitive acutely increases stiffness pitchers, contributing tightness. safe practical method for assessing developing injury prevention strategies.
