Human Factors play a significant role in the development and integration of avionic systems to ensure that they are trusted can be used effectively. As Unoccupied Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology becomes increasingly important aviation domain this holds true. This study aims gain an understanding UAV operators' trust requirements when piloting UAVs by utilising popular interview methodology (Schema World Action Research Method), combination with key questions on identified from literature. Interviews were conducted six operators, range experience. importance past experience expectations operators hold. Recommendations made target training inform experience, addition equipment, procedures organisational standards aid developing trustworthy systems. The was developed shows promise for capturing within human-automation interactions.

Thinking with literature urging 'witnessing' strikes understanding infrastructures undergirding them, it offers three contributions. First, while cognisant access challenges accompanying research into military practice objects, introduces two under-examined fieldsites through which reapproaches drone.
