Deconstructing a building with the help of drones and BIM (building information modelling) is becoming increasingly common as more efficient, eco-friendly, affordable alternative to traditional techniques disassembly. This paper presents systematic review following methodology Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) investigate role drone technology in deconstruction. A total 10 studies were identified based on integration BIM, all which proved promising enhancing process The analysis 35 3 non-academic selected data reveals several key findings. Firstly, not commonly used deconstruction or demolition processes, particularly managing fixtures fittings buildings. Secondly, adoption deconstruction-oriented design methods use can significantly reduce negative environmental impacts waste. Lastly, limited implementation practices construction industry hinders realisation environmental, social, economic benefits associated this approach. Overall, highlights potential improving practices, while also identifying knowledge gaps areas further research development topic.

Purpose Reality capture technologies, such as laser scanning, photogrammetry and video capture, are revolutionizing the construction industry. The vast field of reality has numerous applications in different areas Therefore, this paper aims to provide a systematic literature review current research on role potential technology It highlights benefits challenges using technology, especially discusses necessary technological infrastructure. Design/methodology/approach adheres PRISMA approach for conducting research. To ensure that our search was comprehensive up-to-date, we conducted thorough journal articles published within last five years (2019–2023) across two major databases: Scopus Web Science. Findings findings revealed capabilities limitations techniques applied tasks progress monitoring, quality control, mapping as-built environments, detection faults, visualization simulation processes integration with building information modeling (BIM). Key included processing large, complex data; modeling; handling missing noise captured data cost. Originality/value There is need develop more robust systems automated analysis support professionals. This will serve foundation identify promising future development directions at intersection
