Both industry and academia have recently highlighted the need to provide students with 21st-century abilities that involve soft skills flexible technical competencies. To this end, active learning (AL) helps scholars be more autonomous, proactive, self-regulated, sociable creative. A full AL implementation typically requires costly resources institutional support. However, it is possible maintain a traditional teaching structure include low-cost activities enhance students’ performance satisfaction. This proposal suggests methodology where lectures become dynamic, practical student-centered, lab fully open, learner’s progress gamified. subject design presented in comprehensive manner aiming for satisfying courses heterogeneous profile. All are carefully selected social constructivist approach order promote critical thinking, interaction engagement. The assessment of course performed considering multiple aspects, such as satisfaction, performance, relationships self-regulation. The interconnection between engineering simulations, real-world experiments, and virtual reality remains underutilised in engineering. This study addresses this gap by implementing such interconnections, focusing on active thermography for a carbon fibre plate the aerospace domain. Six scenarios based three parameters were simulated using ComSol Multiphysics 6.2 validated experimentally. results then integrated into serious game developed with Unreal Engine 5.3.2 aimed at educating users principles aiding rapid experimental condition analysis. Users are immersed 3D representation of research laboratory, allowing interaction environment, understanding thermographic setups, accessing instructional videos, analysing as graphs or animations. helps determine optimal scenario given problem, enhance principle comprehension, achieve more swiftly than through experimentation. innovative approach bridges simulations practical providing engaging efficient learning experience education. It highlights potential integrating to improve efficiency
