For several decades, Saudi Arabia has depended on fossil fuels for energy consumption in its sectors, which turn increased carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the effect of quality environment and explore role energy-efficient technological innovation. This study uses a structural time series model (STSM) examine efficiency innovation from 1980 2019 based two models. Findings long-run elasticities estimated both models indicate that impacts emissions significantly. Also, underlying demand trend (UEDT) evident implies over period, improvement does not exist. But 2016 onwards, UEDT showed downward slope, because country became interested launched few energy-efficiency policies programs 2010s. Finally, this highlights some important environmental can help mitigate Recognising may policymakers act apply industrial sector. Arabia’s have accelerate enforcement with mandatory implementation.

One of the actions taken to mitigate climate change is research, development and demonstration (RD&D) investments in renewable energy (RE) technology. In addition domestic RD&D spending, import foreign technologies, as a main channel technology transfer, another option obtain higher share energies order achieve objectives. this study, panel dataset 28 OECD member countries from 2011 2020 analyzed, using OLS, fixed-effects, two-step system GMM methods, assess impacts public spending on (RERD) technologies energy-related CO 2 emissions. To fully capture significant regional differences, are re-divided into four regions accordance with their investment level total This study uniquely investigates impact RERD importation–as an alternative for obtaining technologies–on emissions countries, while also analyzing differences inform targeted local policies. The findings reveal that emission significantly negatively affected by imports, full well Low-RERD Low-Emission regions. Furthermore, only High-RERD High-Emission can decrease Accordingly, some policy implications recommended concerning renewables import.
