This work presents an analysis of the impact nationally determined contributions (NDC) under Paris Agreement on global temperature rise. With use a climate simulation tool based concept system dynamics, study constructs framework to project changes other policy scenarios. The hypothesis is formulated current, announced and best-case global/national research aims address critical questions regarding effectiveness ongoing NDC commitments in limiting rise well below 2°C, alignment with Agreement’s goals. results offer roadmap by presenting possible grey areas for optimising current NDCs national energy policies treaties, fostering international collaboration reinforcing commitment combating change. In addition, this also potential strategies decarbonisation associated facilitating implementation just fair NDCs.

Abstract Global climate goals require a transition to deeply decarbonized energy system. Meeting the objectives of Paris Agreement through countries' nationally determined contributions and long‐term strategies represents complex problem with consequences across multiple systems shrouded by deep uncertainty. Robust, large‐ensemble methods analyses mapping wide range possible future states world are needed help policymakers design effective meet emissions reduction goals. This study contributes scenario discovery analysis applied large ensemble 5,760 model realizations generated using Change Analysis Model. Eleven energy‐related uncertainties systematically varied, representing national mitigation pledges, institutional factors, techno‐economic parameters, among others. The resulting maps how impact common system metrics used characterize global pathways toward decarbonization. Results show globally consistent but regionally variable transitions as measured metrics, including electricity costs stranded assets. Larger economies developing regions experience more severe economic outcomes broad sampling scale CO 2 removal determines much can continue emit, relative role different options in meeting decarbonization varies regions. Previous studies characterizing uncertainty have typically focused on few scenarios, other work has not (to our knowledge) combined this framework pledges or factors. Our results underscore value for decision support countries begin their
