To achieve the goals of carbon peak and neutrality, Xinjiang, as an autonomous region in China with large energy reserves, should adjust its development vigorously develop new sources, such photovoltaic (PV) power. This study utilized data spatiotemporal variation solar radiation from 1984 to 2016 verify that Xinjiang is suitable for PV power generation. Then, averages radiation, sunshine duration, other period after 2000 were used assess suitability based on spatial principal component analysis (SPCA). Finally, theoretical generation potential, fossil fuel reduction, CO2 emissions reduction estimated. The results are follows: (1) In terms temporal variation, decreased (1984–2002), increased (2002–2009), again (2009–2016), but fluctuations not statistically significant. distribution, Kunlun Mountains southern had highest during span period. Hami Turpan, eastern sufficiently high stable radiation. (2) area classed highly about 87,837 km2, which mainly concentrated Xinjiang. (3) situation where construction plants fully developed, potential annual approximately 8.57 × 106 GWh. equivalent 2.59 109 tce coal. Furthermore, 6.58 t can be reduced. 27 times consumption 2020. Through assessment calculations, we found has significant systems.

Facing green trade barriers from developed nations, particularly the EU, based on product carbon footprints, China’s renewable energy industries confront significant challenges in transitioning towards sustainability and low emissions. This study delves into footprint of infrastructure, evaluating wind turbines, photovoltaic (PV) panels, lithium batteries across varied decarbonization scenarios, emphasizing both production international transportation. The initial findings for 2022 indicate baseline footprints 990,701 kg CO2-eq/MW 2994.97 CO2-eq/kWp PV 67.53 CO2-eq/kWh batteries. Projections 2050 suggest that advancements could slash these by up to 36.1% 76.7% 72.5% batteries, closely mirroring EU’s low-carbon benchmarks. Considerable domestic transportation have been quantified, underscoring importance logistic decarbonization. Based results, it is concluded steadfast commitment a sustainable climate-ambitious development path can provide globally competitive, infrastructure after 2030. advocates collaborative approach trade, as opposed erecting barriers, effectively contribute global climate objectives.
