This study investigates the impacts of agriculture and renewable energy consumption on CO2 emissions in South Korea from 1980 to 2023, highlighting both challenges opportunities for environmental sustainability. Utilizing bootstrap ARDL, FMOLS, CCR methodologies, analysis reveals that traditional agricultural practices significantly increase emissions, underscoring urgent need sustainable reforms. Conversely, effectively reduces thereby supporting nation’s transition towards sources. Additionally, control variables such as industrial activity, urbanization, prices, government policies exhibit significant effects emissions. Specifically, activity urbanization contribute increased whereas higher prices stringent are associated with reduced These findings highlight necessity targeted sector reforms achieve a balance between economic growth preservation. Robustness tests confirm stability these relationships, providing reliable foundation policymakers develop effective strategies future Korea.
