In the process of biogas production, various types substrates with suitable energy potential are utilized to generate in plants designed for cogeneration (CHP) electricity and heat. This paper presents a literature review focused on different involved emphasizing their optimization potential. Data this research were gathered through comprehensive scientific scholarly from global databases. The study examines production capabilities feedstocks employed plants, highlighting substrates, including livestock byproducts such as liquid solid manure, crops, organic waste food slaughterhouse industries, well municipal wastewater waste. Furthermore, we conducted practical case municipality Čačak, which provides valuable insights into effective practices strategies that can be broadly applied enhance similar contexts. findings reveal significant variations among importance strategic selection management practices. contributes field by providing clearer understanding substrate inform development more local municipalities.
