The growing complexity of distributed energy systems and the rise peer-to-peer markets demand innovative solutions for efficient, resilient, sustainable management. However, existing research often remains fragmented, with limited integration between control strategies, optimization frameworks, practical implementation. This paper presents a comprehensive systematic review, following PRISMA methodology, that synthesizes findings from 94 high-quality studies addresses lack consolidated insights across technical, operational, architectural layers. review highlights advancements in six key areas: modeling, multi-agent systems, simulations, blockchain smart contracts, robust electric machines. Despite progress, several reveal challenges related to scalability, data privacy, computational complexity, system adaptability, particularly dynamic decentralized environments. Stochastic–robust improve coordination, while enhances security automation trading. Simulations validate bridging theory practice, machines support renewable grid flexibility. synthesis underscores need unified frameworks combine artificial intelligence, predictive control, secure communication protocols. aims provide roadmap advancing toward scalable, solutions.
