In this work, the seasonal performance of a dual-source heat pump (DSHP) prototype, able to exploit aerothermal and geothermal energy, was assessed experimentally. The unit, operated under working conditions two representative heating days (RDs), coupled real undersized borehole exchanger (BHE) field. A distributed temperature sensing (DTS) system, installed in borefield, adopted monitor ground thermal response during DSHP operation. order compare that traditional air-source (ASHP), same RDs were reproduced test rig operating air mode only, then exploiting both sources. Comparing efficiency ASHP, it is noticed additional exploitation energy can increase system by up 3% on basis. Indeed, an BHE operate until energy-efficient; then, required building load supplied source. way, investment cost be reduced, drift originating from unbalanced loads limited through smart
