In order to realize high-quality development, it vital explore the spatial and temporal (ST) distribution of WY its driving factors in Yiluo River Basin (YLRB) uphold ecological stability advance long-term sustainable growth. This paper quantifies YLRB from 2010 2020 using model InVEST toolkit. Exploring ST characteristics at both raster sub-watershed levels, results indicate overall (average water depth) 2010, 2015, was 26.93 × 108 m3 (136.50 mm), 22.86 (113.38 26.81 (137.61 respectively. The pattern watershed remains consistent across various periods, illustrating variation depth low central western regions high eastern region. It is the crucial precondition realizing watershed protection high-quality The variations land use during 1990–2020 are investigated by taking typical areas returning farmland to forests as an example. spatiotemporal distributions of six services, namely carbon storage, water yield, net primary productivity (NPP), soil conservation, habitat quality, forest recreation quantified InVEST model statistical data. We also uncover spatial difference Loess Plateau, located northern Shaanxi, with hot spot analysis probe correlations services. results show that: (1) decreased dramatically. On contrary, orchards increased significantly. (2) During same period, storage quality increased, NPP, initially declined, but subsequently rose higher values than that 1990. All these southeastern part research area surpass those found northwest. (3) Shaanxi mainly characterized correlations, which became stronger from 1990 2020. effects occur yield other distributed west north area. With global climate change and irrational human activities, regional water resource conflicts are becoming more pronounced. The availability of in watersheds can be indicated by the yield. Exploring factors that influence yield is crucial responding to protecting resource. Previous research on influencing has frequently adopted a macro-level perspective, which failed reflect mechanisms changes at local scale adequately. Therefore, this study proposes novel framework for integrally evaluating impacts activities services from both perspectives. Taking Ganzhou City, source Ganjiang River, as an example, results show following: (1) City had largest 1307.29 mm 2016, lowest was only 375.32 2011. spatial distribution pattern mainly affected surface environment, high-value regions area were predominantly located urban areas with flat terrain. (2) At scale, where contribute than 80% accounted 25% area. In comparison, impact 0.95%. contribution rate significantly greater change. (3) simulation four scenarios contributed (>98%) yield, higher (<2%). This puts forward pioneering views driving forces provides valuable theoretical basis protection ecological environment construction.

Water yield and purification are important aspects of water ecosystem services, achieving a balanced development the two is necessary for aquatic ecosystems. Using InVEST model, spatiotemporal variations regional services in Shanxi, China, from 2000 to 2020 were analyzed. Three future scenarios (natural development, urban ecological protection) assessed 2030 using PLUS model. The results showed that 2000–2020, Shanxi Province terms space was generally low middle northwest high southeast, it affected by land-use change climatic change. From 2020, changed 78.8 mm. In 2030, will be highest under scenario (380.53 mm) lowest protection (368.22 mm). Moreover, quality capacity improved, with nitrogen loading center east west. With the intensification of global climate change and environmental degradation, goals carbon peaking neutrality have become crucial strategies for promoting sustainable development in various countries. However, most studies on ecological environment quality (EEQ) focus urban areas, with limited attention to county-level analyses, particularly regarding complex interactions between climate, topography, human activities. This study aims address this gap by investigating spatiotemporal evolution multidimensional driving factors EEQ 107 counties Shaanxi Province, China. Using Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform MODIS imagery, along methods such as Remote Sensing Ecological Index (RSEI), Hurst exponent, GeoDetector, analyzed evolutionary characteristics mechanisms EEQ, explored improvement management different types county within framework dual goals. The results indicate that: 1) From 2000 2020, overall Province showed a fluctuating upward trend, improving from moderate level good level, although some experienced slight degradation 2010 2020. 2) spatial distribution displayed “low-high-low-high” gradient north south, indicating superior conditions southern central-northern counties, while northern regions faced significant challenges. 3) future trend is expected be one continuous improvement, must paid ongoing risks highly urbanized areas. 4) differentiation primarily driven influenced synergistic effects multiple factors. For varying levels it essential comprehensively consider factors, implement tailored sequestration enhancement strategies. not only propose targeted approaches reinforce storage but also offer valuable policy guidance, thereby making contribution achieving at level.

Effectively coupling harmonizing dynamic relationship between ecosystem services socio-economic development emerged as crucial concern for reserves. Therefore, further exploration needed achieve spatio-temporal balance alignment supply demand ESs Utilizing multiple datasets, RULSE, bivariate autocorrelation methods, this study investigated evolution supply–demand ratio (ESDR) spatial matches soil (SCSs) Qinling Mountains (QMs) from 2000 2020. results indicated following: (1) Over years, SCSs exhibited consistently high level, with an upward trend observed 63.10% QMs, while generally low, decreasing 82.68% QMs. (2) remained favorable, positive ESDR reaching 82.19% From 2010, there was significant decline ESDR; however, substantial rebound across region 2010 (3) counties districts values ESDR. When examining cities, Weinan, Xi’an, Ankang demonstrated relatively consistent patterns higher over time. In 2000, on northern slope lower than that southern slope; situation subsequently underwent reversal. (4) distribution SCS predominantly characterized by matching regions exhibiting either High Supply–High Demand or Low Supply–Low years. This suggests dynamics been favorable recent matches. These findings can provide valuable insights similar aiming implement environmental protection sustainable development. future research endeavors, should strive expand upon exploring associated other diverse reserves, considering their unique geographical characteristics, order promote more rational strategies.
