Abstract Investigating vegetation coverage and quantitatively evaluating environmental changes can serve as the science knowledge in ecological protection, resource management, policy-making, promoting harmonious coexistence between human nature. In this study, we had explored separation space time of evolutionary characteristics driving factors NDVI Nanchang City from 2000 to 2022 based on Hurst Exponent, ReliefF feature selection algorithm, Geographical detector so on. The results are: (1) From temporal dimension, average was 0.453, showing an overall upward trend. Although growth rate gradually slowed over time. (2) terms spatial changes, exhibited a characteristic reverse sustained development, trends "improvement around rivers lakes" "large-scale degradation urban land." (3) proved be more suitable among three algorithms dimension-driven analysis. Human are dominant significantly influencing NDVI, while meteorological not significant. (4) driver-analysis geographical dector shows that population density, nighttime lights, land cover types emerged significant factors. Regions where have negative correlation primarily centred heart Jinxian County; positive correlations found lakes. This study delves into changing patterns City, providing scientific guidance for protection regulation regional environment bring about sustainable development.

The Loess Plateau plays a significant role in the implementation of China's Grain for Green Project due to severe ecological damage region. In order monitor and evaluate effects Project, study was conducted Wuqi County, which is representative Plateau. utilized remote sensing (RS) geographic information system (GIS) technologies analyze spatial temporal patterns assess its effects. findings indicate that resulted notable improvements County from 2000 2018. Firstly, there increase vegetation coverage, accompanied by reduction soil erosion intensity. Secondly, approximately 64 % cropland converted, leading an expansion forest grassland areas. Thirdly, focus restoration primarily on converting grassland, indicating suitability county compared forestation. Lastly, conversion steep (>25°) influenced density less (<25°). This emphasizes importance guiding farmers selecting appropriate strategies finding balance between control agricultural production within Project. Furthermore, recognizes project's are not solely attributed land use but also self-restoration vegetation. shift towards perspective crucial future high-quality development

Abstract Understanding plant‐water relations is essential for effective regional water management and promoting ecologically sustainable development on the Loess Plateau, especially in context of Grain Green project initiated 1999. This study evaluated variations vegetation variables (leaf area index, enhanced solar‐induced chlorophyll fluorescence gross primary production) hydroclimatic (precipitation, total storage, aridity index standardized precipitation evapotranspiration index) from 2003 to 2020, along with their interactions across Plateau. Our analysis revealed a general increase variables, largest observed forest expansion areas. Precipitation exhibited significant upwards trends, while storage showed decline, particularly Vegetation were more sensitive changes In northwest region, where large‐scale croplands grasslands occurred, also sensitivity precipitation. Lag effect short time lags (1–3 months) between expect (6 months). Overall, human activities climate factors contributed 58.4% 41.6% leaf 52.2% 47.8% production, respectively. relatively arid environments, over 50% greening. underscores increasingly role driving greening afforestation

Investigating vegetation coverage and quantifying environmental changes offer critical insights for ecological protection, resource management, policymaking. This study explores the spatial temporal separation of evolutionary characteristics driving factors NDVI in Nanchang City from 2000 to 2022, using methods such as Hurst Exponent, ReliefF feature selection algorithm, geographical detectors. The results show following observations: (1) Temporal analysis: average was 0.453, showing an overall upward trend, although rate increase gradually slowed over time. (2) Spatial exhibited a pattern sustained reverse development, with notable trends “improvement around rivers lakes” “large-scale degradation urban land”. (3) Feature selection: among three algorithms tested, proved most effective analyzing drivers changes. Human were identified dominant variation, while meteorological less significant. (4) Geographical driver detectors revealed that population density, nighttime lights, land cover types primary change. Regions negative correlation between human are mainly centered central area Jinxian County, whereas positive correlations observed lakes. delves into changing patterns City, offering scientific guide protection management regional environment, thereby promoting sustainable development.
