Climate change has massive consequences on non-living factors in the environment, resulting irregular precipitation, fluctuating atmospheric temperature, and variations humidity. These changes cause biotic abiotic stresses; plants must have defense mechanisms to survive. Therefore, divert some synthesized energy towards producing numerous plant secondary metabolites (PSMs), viz., flavonoids, alkaloids, essential oils. compounds act as protections for plants, helping them survive under stressful conditions. Medicinal aromatic (MAPs) are sessile organisms that not immune harmful of various stresses which PSMs an important role acting against adverse effects. In this regard, MAPs a coherent mechanism stresses. The produced by these useful medicines products humans. However, all produce high metabolites, their production is highly specific certain This review provides comprehensive understanding metabolite conditions, including extreme drought, water logging, salinity, radiation, elevated levels ozone CO2, heavy metals, agrochemicals MAPs. Additionally, can be modified subjecting stressors. Many authors reported MAPs, need well documented exploited humankind.

Most fir species in the Mediterranean have small to medium-sized distributions, are often endemic and endangered, mainly found relict areas, except for Abies alba. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species identified nebrodensis as rarest conifer world, with only 30 adult trees remaining. Additionally, pinsapo is threatened limited five fragmented locations Spain Morocco. This study aimed characterize seed terpene profiles species, such A. nebrodensis, pinsapo, alba, since morphological results showed minimal variation among populations examined. Terpenes were extracted using n-heptane then analyzed by GC-MS. chemical composition revealed dominance limonene α-pinene main monoterpenes all while reported considerable presence germacrene D-4-ol selina-6-en-4-ol sesquiterpenes. relative contents most terpenes significantly different subsequent statistical multivariate analysis clear discrimination three distinct groups. These confirmed suitability profile a potential tool chemotaxonomic differences between from same family. Moreover, compounds can be interesting further studies on plant defense against biotic stress reduce risk extinction caused pests diseases.
