This study evaluated the desorption of cadmium (Cd) from cocoa waste-derived flour using organic acids. Cocoa pods were collected Antioquia and Casanare, Colombia, to analyze geographical Cd content its distribution within pod tissues. Acid selection was performed a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) matrix, assessed through full factorial 23 experimental design, considering acid concentration, pulp density, agitation speed. Additionally, oxidation–reduction potential (ORP) monitored as an indicator electrochemical dynamics process. The results indicated that Casanare exhibited higher concentrations (1.63 ± 0.20 ppm) compared with those (0.87 0.22 ppm), 49.31% metal being accumulated in pod. Parameters citric at 0.5 M, 5 g/L 120 rpm found be optimal for process, achieving over 95% efficiency. Based on ORP monitoring, heuristic proposed determine contact time during leaching. work outlines scalable process desorption, adding value industry waste applications.
