This study aims to identify the best conditions for liquid hot water pretreatment (LHW) of sweet stalk sorghum and optimization method using response surface (RSM) with varying parameters, including temperature, reaction time, acid catalysts, enhance enzymatic hydrolysis pretreated sorghum. presents a novel approach by optimizing LHW RSM maximize glucose yield minimize sugar degradation, in contrast widely used sulfuric combined SSF. The goal is achieve highest ethanol production under optimal conditions. results show that after conditions, actual values have 91.09% solid fraction at catalyst concentration 0.90% temperature 110 °C 90 min. statistical analysis an R-squared value 0.9964 or 99.64%, which statistically significant. In addition, optimized significantly improved accessibility enzyme. Pretreatment samples was carried out H2SO4 SSF yeast strain S. cerevisiae. during fermentation period 0–96 h, maximum 23.1 g/L occurred 72 h 25 FPU/g substrate pH 4.8 decreased fermentation. conclusion, promising candidate due its high efficient hydrolysis, making it viable alternative biomass-based energy production.
