Late-life depression (LLD) stands as a prevalent mental health issue among older adults, frequently intertwined with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases well cognitive decline. The occurrence of LLD in the who often present multiple aging-related conditions, results this disorder being overlooked. However, astronomical treatment costs considerable societal burden associated necessitate urgent sustained attention. Utilizing data from Global Burden Diseases, Injuries, Risk Factors Study 2021 (GBD 2021), we extracted incidence rates disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) individuals aged 60 older. underwent rigorous evaluation through application age-period-cohort models, inequality concentration index, frontier analysis. From 1990 to 2021, global increase was observed both age-standardized rate (ASIR) DALY LLD. Specifically, ASIR ascended by 0.01 per 100,000 annually, while rose 0.03 each year. Notably, statistically significant inverse relationship identified between Socio-demographic Index (SDI) (p < 0.001). Additionally, notable linear correlation discerned death (ASDR) SDI, albeit without discernible downward trend According Estimated average percentage change (EAPC) five SDI districts showed no or decrease. Globally, an upward high middle low-middle regions, high-middle region, decrease low region. In analysis, found that increased age regions compared were opposite regional characteristics. period effect analysis revealed irrespective gender, trends remained relatively unchanged globally 1992 2021. As levels rose, SDI-adjusted disparities tended stabilize. A comparative highlighted relative decline inequalities. This comprehensive assessment disease population underscores accomplishments simultaneously emphasizing areas requiring ongoing vigilance. context relentless growth aging, favorable downturns reflect tangible advancements managing
