ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the prevalence and factors associated with breastfeeding in first hour of life. Methods: Cross-sectional study made postpartum women who were patients at public maternity hospitals city Teresina, Piauí, Brazil, between 2020-2021. Aspects such as sociodemographic behavioral data woman her intimate partner, obstetric characteristics, addition to partner violence during pregnancy evaluated. A hierarchical analysis was performed using multiple logistic regression, which adjusted odds ratio (AOR) 95% confidence intervals (CI95%) calculated. Results: 413 interviewed. There a 66.8% Factors presence companion (AOR=1.66; CI95% 1.34-2.29), skin-to-skin contact newborn (AOR=2.14; 1.04-4.38) experiencing natural birth (AOR=2.06; 1.90-4.73) increased chances hour. The lack (AOR=0.47; 0.25-0.86) having non-white (AOR=0.45; 0.24-0.83) that decreased breastfeeding. Conclusions: life considered good. Obstetric childbirth care contributed positively practice collected reinforce importance offering quality assistance parturition process.

Abstract Although studies in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) have examined the effects of c-sections on early initiation breastfeeding (EIBF), role place birth has not yet been investigated. Therefore, we tested association between EIBF type delivery by birth. Data from 73 nationally representative surveys carried out LMICs 2010 2019 comprised 408,013 women aged 15 to 49 years. Type was coded four categories: home vaginal delivery, institutional c-section public, private health facilities. We calculated weighted mean prevalence World Bank country income groups. Adjusted Poisson regression (PR) fitted taking as a reference. The overall significantly lower among deliveries public (PR = 38%; 95% CI 0.618–0.628) facilities 45%; 0.54–0.566) compared deliveries. slightly higher lower-middle 0.650, 0.635–0.665) low 0.544, 0.521–0.567) upper-middle 0.612, 0.599–0.626) . inversely associated with deliveries, especially ones.

Abstract Objectives: to identify variables associated with the presence of a companion in delivery room and its association breastfeeding (BF) first hour life. Methods: cross-sectional analysis data from cohort study (n=344). To investigate factors during childbirth hour; we performed Poisson regression analyses, considering p<0.05 as level statistical significance. Results: 93.9% pregnant women had room, no was found between socioeconomic, obstetric neonatal characteristics mother-child binomial companion. In univariate analysis, absence reduced frequency (PR=0.64; CI95%=0.42-0.96), result that not confirmed adjusted analyses (PR=0.79; CI95%=0.54-1.15). Secondly, it identified five minutes Apgar score (PR=1.27; CI95%=1.14-1.40) regardless other factors. Conclusions: most differences according variables. The high; however, lower but this independent

Abstract Objective Our objective was to analyze a prospective population-based registry including five sites in four low- and middle-income countries observe characteristics associated with vaginal birth after cesarean versus repeat birth, as well maternal newborn outcomes the mode of among women history prior cesarean. Hypothesis Maternal perinatal section will be similar those recurrent birth. Methods A study, home facility births enrolled from 2017 2020, performed communities Guatemala, India (Belagavi Nagpur), Pakistan, Bangladesh. Women were during pregnancy, delivery outcome data collected within 42 days Results We analyzed 8267 birth; 1389 (16.8%) experienced cesarean, 6878 (83.2%) delivered by Having negatively need for curettage (ARR 0.12 [0.06, 0.25]) but positively having blood transfusion 3.74 [2.48, 5.63]). stillbirth 0.24 [0.15, 0.49]) and, breast-feeding an hour 0.39 [0.30, 0.50]), use antibiotics 1.51 [1.20, 1.91]). Conclusions In select South Asian Latin American sites, 5 times more likely deliver hospital setting. Those who vaginally had less complicated pregnancy labor courses compared they increased risk stillbirth. More large scale studies are needed Low Income Country settings give stronger recommendations. Background Breast milk provides infants with complete nutrition for immune development and protection against childhood diseases associated mortality. Early initiation of breastfeeding (EIBF) aids in providing colostrum to newborns, infection, improving newborn infant survival. Although Simiyu reported the lowest prevalence EIBF Tanzania, no study has investigated factors this region. Objective The aimed determine early among women reproductive age Methodology We used data from a cross-sectional conducted by AMREF Health Africa 669 (15–49 years) region, Tanzania. An interviewer-administered questionnaire collected on practices (including initiation) others. A multilevel logistic regression analysis estimated adjusted odds ratio (OR) 95% confidence intervals (CI) EIBF. Results mean analyzed was 28.3 years (SD ± 6.8). 62.2%, ranging 52.7% Bariadi district 73.3% Maswa district. Lower were who had caesarian section (OR = 0.41; CI 0.17–0.98) those gave birth male children 0.57; 95%CI 0.39–0.82) while higher mothers skin-to-skin contact 2.40; 1.53–3.83) 2.73; 1.09–6.89). Conclusion region remains low (62%) relative global target 70% 2030 varies To promote good engagement communication between healthcare providers should be emphasised educating about importance Moreover, practice mother child encouraged immediately after delivery.
