Background: Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) among adolescents represents an alarming public health concern worldwide. Both family function and socioeconomic status (SES) were found to play important roles in adolescent NSSI engagement. However, the effects of on different SES are not well evidenced. Aims: This study aimed explore how functions (adaptation, partnership, growth, affection, resolve) affect levels. Methods: Data used this was derived from Students’ Mental Health Network Project (SMHN), a survey conducted 8,872 pairs adolescent-caregivers city central China. Socio-demographic characteristics, function, NSSI, adverse life events, depressive symptoms measured adolescents. Family generated caregivers self-reported information using principal component analysis. Chi-square test multivariate binary logistic regression analyses adopted analyze NSSI. Results: It revealed that 10.2% reported engaging past 12 months. Poor high positively associated with Partnership, both adaptation resolve NSSI-protective factors for low, middle, SES, respectively. Conclusions: Efforts address should acknowledge association between

Introduction Non-suicidal self-injury is a serious health problem among adolescents. However, the association between parent–child conflict and adolescent non-suicidal its underlying mechanisms have not been studied sufficiently. Based on interpersonal model of self-injury, we tested relationship self-injury. Furthermore, based self-determination theory diathesis-stress model, examined whether psychological needs satisfaction mediated link if impulsivity moderated this mediating effect. Methods Using cross-sectional design, recruited 656 adolescents (Mage = 13.43; 47% female) from two junior high schools in Hubei province China.
