Energy imbalance gap (EIG) is defined as the average daily difference between energy intake (EI) and expenditure (EE). This study aimed to examine associations EIG sociodemographic anthropometric variables in adolescent population of eight Latin American countries. A total 680 adolescents aged 15 18 were included this study. EI was estimated using two non-consecutive 24-hour dietary recalls. EE predicted from Schofield equations physical activity levels obtained through long version International Physical Activity Questionnaire. Sociodemographic data measurements also obtained. descriptive analysis multilevel linear regression models used variables. The mean EI, EE, 2091.3 kcal, 2067.8 23.5 respectively. Argentina Colombia had highest EIG, whereas Chile Costa Rica lowest EIG. Males a higher (2262.4 kcal) (2172.2 than females (1930.1 kcal 2084.5 kcal), respectively (p<0,05). Overweight subjects lower did underweight normal-weight Subjects with high SES (2047.0 those low (1963.7 Sex BMI associated America.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic neurodegenerative disorder characterized by motor and non-motor symptoms. The latter mainly include affective, sleep, cognitive deficits. Non-demented PD patients often demonstrate impairments in several executive domains following neuropsychological evaluation. current pilot study aims at assessing the discriminatory power of Frontal Assessment Battery-15 (FAB15) differentiating (i) non-demented healthy controls (ii) with more less pronounced symptoms.Thirty-nine early-stage "on" dopamine state (26 females, mean age = 64.51 years, SD 6.47, duration 5.49 2.28) 39 participants (24 62.60 5.51) were included study. All completed FAB15. Motor symptoms quantified via Unified Disease Rating Scale-Part III (UPDRS-Part III) Hoehn Yahr staging scale (H&Y).The FAB15 score, adjusted according to normative data for sex, age, education, proved be sufficiently able discriminate from (AUC 0.69 [95% CI 0.60-0.75], SE 0.06, p 0.04, optimal cutoff 11.29). Conversely, battery lacked sufficient discriminative capability differentiate based on severity symptoms. The may valid tool distinguishing controls. However, it might sensitive identifying clinical phenotypes visuospatial resulting posteroparietal and/or temporal dysfunctions. Using lexical judgment tasks, the present study explored whether perspective taking affected attention bias to body-related information among junior high school students with body image disturbance. Experiment 1 examined students' schema-related words; results showed disturbance group responded significantly more quickly negative words than positive words, whereas control did not show a significant difference between and words. In 2, participants were asked judge or suitable describe themselves, when adopting their own that of another person. The reaction times shorter self-perspective. When another's perspective, there was no time This result demonstrated reduced research suggests guiding adolescents view themselves from different perspectives can help them form accurate objective image.

This study investigates the relationship between body image, eating disorders, psychological characteristics, and mood anxiety symptoms in Chilean youth, with nutritional status, particularly overweight obesity. With a sample of 1001 participants from five regions Chile, aged 15 to 23 years. The Eating Disorder Inventory 3 (EDI-3), Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire Appearance Scales (MBSRQ_AS), Symptom Derogatis Revised (SCL90-R) sociodemographic questionnaire were used analyze these variables. A model including nine exogenous (independent) variables ten endogenous variables, based on literature review, was evaluated by path analysis. results show significant association factors such as sex, family history overweight, self-classification weight, dissatisfaction mass index (BMI). behaviors overeating, lack appetite also found be influenced interpersonal sensitivity, preoccupation, drive for thinness. underscores importance promoting positive image addressing overweight/obesity combined health psychology public perspective, highlighting need interventions that consider particular obesity, phenomenon multifactorial causes maintainers.

A total 92 took part study filled out set self-administered questionnaires. correlational analysis showed general well-being was positively associated with years spent playing (r = 0.23) mechanisms 0.29). Athletes’ also negatively correlated inflexibility −0.41) fusion −0.39). k-means cluster identified two unique groups: group 1, characterized higher psychological well-being, lower greater improved techniques, reduced 2, which exhibits opposite characteristics. discrepancies observed characteristics such as strategies, highlight their potential impact on players. This study explores the interplay between executive functions and body weight, examining both influence of biological factors, specifically sex, methodological issues, such as choice Body Mass Index (BMI) waist circumference (WC) primary anthropometric measure. A total 386 participants (222 females, mean age = 45.98 years, SD 17.70) were enrolled, from whom sociodemographic (sex, age, years formal education) (BMI WC) data collected. Executive evaluated using Frontal Assessment Battery–15 (FAB15). The results showed increased effectiveness WC over BMI in relationships functions, sex differences, weight. In particular, this revealed that there was a significant moderating effect at comparable levels functioning. Specifically, women with higher performance had lower WCs than their male counterparts, suggesting function has greater impact on men. Our findings highlight importance conducting more in-depth investigations complex relationship cognitive deficits weight gain, considering confounding variables behavioral, psychobiological, neurophysiological origin.
