Introduction Promoting the development of digital technology is an important step in meeting challenge global climate change and achieving carbon peaking neutrality goals. Methods Based on panel data Chinese cities from 2006 to 2020, this paper used econometrics investigate impact mechanism emissions. Results The results showed that can significantly reduce emission intensity improve efficiency. These remained robust after changing estimation method, adding policy omission variables, replacing core solving endogeneity problem. Digital indirectly emissions by promoting green technological innovation reducing energy intensity, it plays a significant role reduction practices trading policies comprehensive national big pilot zones. replicability, non-exclusivity, high mobility help accelerate spread knowledge information between different cities, which leads spillover effect reductions. Our unconditional quantile regression model technology’s continuously decreases with increases dioxide Discussion provide evidence for potential use goal neutrality, great significance high-quality transformation economy society.

The deep integration of digital economy and green development has become an inevitable requirement important aid in achieving the goal carbon peaking neutrality promoting high-quality economic development. At same time, manufacturing industry is main sector energy consumption emissions China force for goals. This paper constructs a mathematical model to measure scale efficiency green, low-carbon transformation industry. It builds panel data study effect on based 30 Chinese provinces from 2016 2020. results find that (1) there significant positive industry, with impact coefficient 0.477, this finding remains robustness test. (2) A further test mediating finds can drive by enhancing technological innovation, it shows partial accounts 28% total effect. (3) In regional heterogeneity analysis, found more prominent central region, coefficients are 0.684, 0.806, 0.340, 0.392 east, central, west, northeast regions, respectively. provide theoretical basis policy support governments enterprises.

Abstract With the rapid development of digital economy, its environmental impact, particularly on carbon dioxide emissions in resource-based cities, has emerged as a vital research topic. Resource-based often central to traditional industries, are confronted with dual challenges pollution and economic transformation. This study employs empirical analysis examine influence economy these cities. The findings reveal that significantly reduces emissions, this impact being more pronounced early stages gradually diminishing thereafter. In mechanism analysis, we found can reduce cities by raising public concern about environment. Moreover, highlights significant variations reduction effects among different types noting stronger regulations further enhance effects. These insights not only provide new theoretical perspective but also offer practical guidance for policymakers promoting sustainable within economy.

In the realistic context of development China’s digital economy and carbon peaking neutrality goals, to efficiently achieve high-quality economic green low-carbon transformation, this paper investigates impact on emission efficiency 30 Chinese provinces cities from 2011–2019. paper, firstly, index are calculated by entropy method Super-SBM-Undesirable Model. Secondly, Spatial Lag Model (SAR) Durbin (SDM) respectively constructed under adjacency matrix geographic distance empirically test spatial efficiency. The results show that: both distribution characteristics stronger in East weaker Middle West; has a significantly positive direct spillover effect efficiency; there differences effects various dimensions cities; significant regional heterogeneity among eastern, central, western regions. This provides new empirical evidence for developing countries such as China proactively develop promote energy conservation reduction realize transformation.

The intelligent revolution caused by new digital technologies has provided impetus to reduce carbon emissions. However, the current research on and emissions is still in its infancy lacks empirical conclusions between them. Therefore, this paper studies impact of emissions, identifies mechanism, analyzes regional heterogeneity effects. This treats National Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zones pilot China as a quasi-natural experiment for development along with city-level data covering from 2011 2019 conduct staggered difference-in-difference (DID) model analysis. We find that significantly conclusion valid after series robustness tests such treatment effect analysis, ex-ante trend test, spillover placebo test. Additionally, can promoting transformation industrial structure, improving level green technology innovation, agglomeration. At same time, analysis shows technologies' emission reduction more evident non-western regions, southern large cities. To expand technologies, government should promote application implement differentiated policies based characteristics.
