Abstract Scholars have gradually shifted efforts to understand the COVID‐19 crisis renewal stage. Viewing a gap in college communities' knowledge regarding renewal, this study drew upon extended theoretical model of communal coping and explored students' stressor back‐to‐campus situations. Results an online survey ( N = 460) across nine US universities, first, supported presence such situation. Second, universities' transparent communication benefited appraisal, while offline bonding social capital boosted action; both appraisal action components positively contributed student adaptivity, with life satisfaction being associated only dimension. Theoretical practical implications for interdisciplinary concretization public health are discussed.
