Abstract Biodiversity conservation in human‐inhabited landscapes is increasingly gaining attention due to the global decline of species. Understanding impact human activities on avian functional ecology becoming important as habitats are transformed. We assessed influence habitat fragmentation diversity (FD), focusing metrics like richness (FRic), evenness (FEve) and divergence (FDiv). calculated FRic, FEve FDiv across using ‘fundiversity’ R package. also Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) estimated land‐use cover study area from Landsat 8 images. observed higher FD minimally disturbed habitats, where among woodland had high while settlement low. This supports intermediate disturbance hypothesis, which suggests that moderate can increase species diversity. Our findings emphasise pivotal role fragmented shaping ecology, with environmental variables such EVI influencing habitats. Hence, we promote sustainable connectivity, proper land management practices conservation‐friendly agricultural for biodiversity conservation.

Abstract The Lake Tana area owns several wetlands and is one of the best places for local migratory birds in Ethiopia. are subjected to anthropogenic pressure, which turn affects wetland-dependent fauna flora. This study aimed assess species diversity abundance flooded wetlands. transect point count methods were used locate across five sites from December 2021 November 2022. Bray-Curtis cluster analysis was show composition similarity waterfowl habitats, Shannon-Wiener indices (H′) employed quantify avian species. Abstract Cities represent novel environments in which birds must survive, but many cases urban planners ignore the importance of vegetation, both for human well-being and biodiversity. For these reasons, with an observational study visiting orange tree a family garden, we recorded species number visits each, to assess main factors that determine birds. We 29 from 16 families during four months observations. Parulidae Icteridae were most common families. 12 rare, 8 occasional, 6 frequent 3 very frequent. Of observed, 11 observed perching 18 foraging. The important trophic guild was invertivores, represented by 14 species, followed omnivores 10, frugivores granivores two each. Body mass ranged 183 gr. resident migratory. While there no single parameter explained pattern tree, weight, origin use can be good indicators possible visit this tree. In addition, characteristics site may also play role. Although our is small, it offers detailed insight into bird patterns within landscape Neotropical city. Future studies should aim increase observation points throughout city, especially gardens.
