Objective This study aims to establish the precise prevalence of sleep disorders among university students in Jiangsu Province. Utilizing a representative sample students, we measured their quality based on Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Our objective is quantitatively assess magnitude and identify key factors. By detailed analysis these relationships, our seeks provide actionable insights for development targeted interventions enhance within this population. Methods From October November 2022, conducted cross-sectional web-based survey Province, China. Using convenient cluster sampling each college, total 8457 participants were selected. The PSQI was applied students. Data collected included sociodemographic details, scores from Mobile Phone Dependence (MPAI) psychological resilience by Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). Results overall poor 39.30%. Binary logistic regression revealed that higher physical activity (OR = 0.921; 95% CI: 0.779-1.090), earlier roommate bedtimes 0.799; 0.718-0.888), quieter dormitories 0.732; 0.647-0.828) 0.982; CI, 0.979-0.984) protective factors linked lower risk quality. Conversely, being female student 1.238; 1.109-1.382), senior 1.582; 1.344-1.863), single-child status 1.195; 1.077-1.326), regular smoking 1.833; 1.181-2.847), alcohol consumption 1.737; 1.065-2.833), high academic stress 1.326; 1.012-1.736), employment 1.352; 1.156-1.582), dissatisfaction with dormitory hygiene 1.140; 1.028-1.265), self-rated health 1.969; 1.533-2.529), mental 2.924; 2.309-3.702) mobile phone dependency associated an increased likelihood Conclusion should attract immediate attention. public services education initiatives crucial enhancing

The study was designed to examine the role of self-control as a moderator in relationship between physical activity and sleep quality sample 2274 college students. We employed Physical Activity Rating Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Self-Control Scale assess variables. Our analysis revealed significant correlation levels Index (r = − 0.541, p < 0.01). Furthermore, found be moderating factor (β 0.001, 0.01), indicating that effect on is influenced by an individual's level self-control. Since higher scores indicate poorer quality, positive impacts tended diminish with increasing levels. Conversely, appeared intensify decreased. Individuals lower seemed benefit most from increased activity, whereas those demonstrated superior quality. findings highlight significance fostering self-regulatory abilities alongside engaging promising approach improve health

Objective This systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized-clinical trials aims to analyze the effect interventions incorporating surface neurofeedback techniques on self-perceived sleep quality insomnia in patients with or without disturbances. Methods The was completed accordance Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) statement deposited Prospero international prospective registry reviews (CRD42024528401). Seven clinical different main outcomes but pre-post intervention records symptoms assessed by questionnaires met our inclusion criteria, including a publication date within last 10 years. Five investigated through scores Pittsburgh Index (PSQI) three signs severity validated scales. methodological included studies using Cochrane Collaboration’s tool assessing risk bias showed high them. Results A total 5 that evaluated PSQI score were meta-analysis. results revealed control conditions succeeded improving PSQI-assessed more than analyzed Neurofeedback (PSQI 0.57; 95% CI 0.13 1.01; p = 0.01). On other hand, 3 various scales neither NF nor show favorable outcome relative each (−0.13; −0.44 0.18; 0.41). Conclusion studied mostly apply training protocol based maintaining alpha waves range between 8 12 Hz, electrode positioning frontal area sensorimotor cortex number sessions ranging from 20 sessions. do not produce additional benefits self-perception compared wide variety cognitive behavioral treatment biofeedback modalities. registration PROSPERO – International register CRD42024528401 https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/display_record.php?RecordID=528401 .
