Cloves, a commonly used spice, are significant source of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, hydroxybenzoic acids, hydroxycinnamic and others. The major phenolic constituents in cloves eugenol, eugenyl acetate, caryophyllene, which contribute to their high antioxidant activity. activity can confer protection the human body against free radicals chronic diseases. In addition, able increase shelf life food products by hindering lipid peroxidation, frequently occurs during processing storage. Cloves were also found exhibit bactericidal activity, makes them suitable candidate for application preservation. This review covers phytochemical activities cloves, antimicrobial These crucial development functional additives packaging materials model systems, could potentially satisfy growing needs consumers nutritional safety aspects food.

Abstract Toward a sustainable development of the flexible electronics industry, design and facile preparation substrates with satisfactory mechanical properties transparency is still challenge. Herein, taking structural advantages biobased eugenol vanillin, polymerizable aromatic carbonate monomer α,ω‐diene functionality (2E), robust acetal α,ω‐tetraene (4E), are designed prepared. Then, they cross‐linked pentaerythritol tetrakis(2‐mercaptoacetate) (4SH) via thiol‐ene click reaction to generate series ternary poly(thioether acetal) thermosets. It found that introduction 4E allows production thermosets higher crosslink density, which can balance their mechanical, optical, surface properties. In addition, thermoset shows good resistance against various natural environmental conditions be decomposed into recyclable small molecules under harsher (3 m NaOH, 80 °C). As result, optimal well‐suited for fabrication organic solar cells (OSCs), yielding power conversion efficiency 15.41%, superior polyethylene terephthalate‐based OSC. The results provided significant insights polymer OSCs, even electronics.

Plant-based oils have a long history of use as insect repellents. In an earlier study, we showed that in 10% concentration, geraniol, 2-phenylethl propionate, and the plant-based essential clove cinnamon effectively protected from mosquito bites for over 60 min.
