The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is a fundamental structure that protects the composition of brain by determining which ions, metabolites, and nutrients are allowed to enter from blood or leave it towards circulation. BBB structurally composed layer capillary endothelial cells (BCECs) bound each other through tight junctions (TJs). However, its development as well maintenance properties controlled contact BCECs: pericytes, glial cells, even neurons themselves. Astrocytes seem, in particular, have very important role controlling most BBB. Here, we will focus on these latter since comprehension their roles physiology has been continuously expanding, including ability participate neurotransmission complex functions such learning memory. Accordingly, pathological conditions alter astrocytic can BBB's integrity, thus compromising many activities. In this review, also refer different kinds vitro models used study properties, evidencing modifications under conditions.

Abstract The advent of highly effective disease modifying therapy has transformed the landscape multiple sclerosis (MS) care over last two decades. However, there remains a critical, unmet need for sensitive and specific biomarkers to aid in diagnosis, prognosis, treatment monitoring, development new interventions, particularly people with progressive disease. This review evaluates current data several emerging imaging liquid MS. MRI findings such as central vein sign paramagnetic rim lesions may improve MS diagnostic accuracy evaluation efficacy Serum cerebrospinal fluid levels neuroglial proteins, neurofilament light chain glial fibrillary acidic protein, show potential be pathologic processes neuro‐axonal injury or glial‐inflammation. Additional promising biomarkers, including optical coherence tomography, cytokines chemokines, microRNAs, extracellular vesicles/exosomes, are also reviewed, among others. Beyond their integration into clinical interventional trials, these informative pathogenesis help elucidate novel targets strategies.

Neurodegenerative diseases that include Alzheimer's disease (AD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's (PD), Huntington's (HD), and multiple (MS) arise due to numerous causes like protein accumulation autoimmunity characterized by neurologic depletion which lead incapacity in normal physiological function such as thinking movement these patients. Glial cells perform an important role protective neuronal function; the case of neuroinflammation, glial cell dysfunction can promote development neurodegenerative diseases. miRNA participates gene regulation plays a vital many biological processes body; central nervous system (CNS), it play essential part neural maturation differentiation. In diseases, dysregulation occurs, enhancing this review, we discuss (Alzheimer's (MS)) how is preserved diagnostic biomarker or therapeutic agent disorders. Finally, highlight therapy.

Abstract The activity of miRNA varies across different cell populations and systems, as part the mechanisms that distinguish types roles in living organisms human health disease. Typically, regulation drives changes composition levels protein-coding RNA lncRNA, with targets being down-regulated when miRNAs are active. term “miRNA activity" is used to refer this transcriptional effect miRNAs. This study introduces miTEA-HiRes, a method designed facilitate evaluation at high resolution. applies single-cell transcriptomics, type-specific populations, spatial transcriptomics data. By comparing conditions, differential inferred. For instance, miTEA-HiRes analysis peripheral blood mononuclear cells Multiple Sclerosis patients control groups revealed miR-20a-5p others, consistent literature on underexpression Sclerosis. Abstract Background Autoimmune diseases (AD) are severe pathophysiological ailments that stimulated by an exaggerated immunogenic response towards self‐antigens, which can cause systemic or site‐specific organ damage. An array of complex genetic and epigenetic facets majorly contributes to the progression AD, thus providing significant insight into regulatory mechanism microRNA (miRNA). miRNAs short, non‐coding RNAs have been identified as essential contributors post‐transcriptional regulation host genome expression crucial regulators a myriad biological processes such immune homeostasis, T helper cell differentiation, central peripheral tolerance, development. Aims This article tends deliberate conceptualize brief pathogenesis pertinent well miRNA networks affecting five different ADs namely rheumatoid arthritis (RA), type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus erythematosus (SLE) inflammatory bowel disorder (IBD) thereby novel miRNA‐based theranostic interventions. Results & Discussion Pertaining differential attributed in target tissues cellular bodies innate adaptive immunity, paradigm scientific expeditions suggests optimistic correlation between dysfunction alterations. Conclusion Therefore, it is not astonishing dysregulations patterns now recognized wide spectrum disorders, establishing themselves potential biomarkers therapeutic targets.
