As the concerned emerging pollutants, several lines of evidence have indicated that nanoplastics (NPs) lead to reproductive toxicity. However, biological mechanism underlying NPs disturbed spermatogenesis remains largely unknown. Therefore, we aimed reveal potential impaired caused by long-term exposure from perspective integrated metabolome and microbiome analysis. After 12 weeks gavage polystyrene (PS-NPs) animo-modified (Amino-NPs), a well-designed two-exposure stages experimental condition. We found induced apparent abnormal spermatogenesis, which appeared more severe in Amino-NPs group. Mechanistically, 14 floras associated with glucose lipid metabolism were significantly altered, as evidenced 16 S rRNA sequencing. Testicular revealed Top 50 changed metabolites also enriched metabolism. Subsequently, combined gut analysis uncovered strong correlations between Klebsiella, Blautia, Parabacteroides, (e.g., PC, LysoPC GPCho). speculate dysbiosis microbiota-related may be responsible for NPs-induced damaged provides new insights into dysregulated spermatogenesis.

Human spermatozoan ion channels are specifically distributed in the membrane, contribute to sperm motility, and associated with male reproductive abnormalities. Calcium, potassium, protons, sodium, chloride main ions that regulated across this their intracellular concentrations crucial for motility. Fatty acids (FAs) affect quality parameters, pathologies, fertility, regulate channel functions other cells. However, date literature is insufficient draw any conclusions regarding effects of FAs on human channels. Here, we aimed discern possible direct guidance future research. After investigating characteristics related modulation similar cells by FAs, extrapolated polyunsaturated (PUFAs) have highest potency modulating increase Of PUFAs, ω-3 unsaturated fatty greatest effect. We speculate saturated monounsaturated will little no effect activity, though could be opposite those considering differences between FA structure behavior.

Cell lipids are differentially distributed in distinct organelles and within the leaflets of bilayer. They can further form laterally defined sub-domains membranes with important signaling functions. This molecular spatial complexity offers optimal platforms for associated challenge dissecting these pathways especially that lipid metabolism tends to be highly interconnected. Lipid has historically been implicated gamete function, however detailed involved remain obscure. In this review we focus on oocyte sperm maturation an effort consolidate current knowledge role set stage future directions.

Low-temperature semen storage technologies are already being used in poultry conservation programs, but the quality of reproductive material stored cryobanks varies greatly and cannot always be successfully for practical purposes. Therefore, it is necessary to improve compositions cryoprotective media their quality. This study aimed investigate composition membrane lipids carbohydrates cytosol rooster spermatozoa, explain dose-dependent effect a combination trehalose fructose on preservation morphological kinetic parameters during freezing/thawing, determine most effective diluent composition. Ejaculates were collected from Rhode Island Red roosters (n = 10). The effectiveness three diluents containing was evaluated: LCM-control (0 mM), Treh20 (9.5 Treh30 (13.4 mM). Chromatographic analysis lipids, carbohydrates, polyols spermatozoa performed. A decrease content glycolipids plasma membranes 2.0% native 1.1–1.4% (frozen/thawed) phospholipids 71.2% (native) 70.5% reduced progressive sperm motility 65.7% 12.6–27.6% (frozen/thawed). same dynamics observed viability parameter 90.4% 27.0–41.2% diluent, using (36 mM) saccharides, maximally preserved lipid profile frozen/thawed which positively affected indicators general mobility viability.
