Circadian rhythm disruptions have been implicated in numerous health issues, including cognitive decline and the exacerbation of neurodegenerative diseases, like Alzheimer disease (AD). Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), vital for neuronal plasticity function, is regulated by circadian clock exerts protective effects against AD. Thus, we investigated impact disorders (CRDs) on impairment explored underlying neurobiological mechanisms assessing BDNF amyloid-β (Aβ) levels. We divided male C57BL/6 mice into three groups (

Watchkeeping schedules are essential for maintaining submarine operations, but come with human risk factors including, disrupted sleep, circadian misalignment, and cognitive deficits. There is now an emerging literature examining the strengths weaknesses of watchkeeping trialled in field under simulated laboratory conditions. The aim this scoping review was to summarise literature. A systematic search peer-reviewed journal articles industry reports listed MEDLINE, PsychINFO, PubMed, Scopus, Embase Google Scholar undertaken May 2023 returned 7298 papers. Following screening procedures, 13 studies were identified inclusion. findings revealed that sleep sufficiently preserved regardless schedule (total time = 5.46-7.89 h), misalignment greater non-24 h schedules, longer off-watch periods associated better performance. Taken together, when comparing between present suggest 4 h-on/8 h-off 8 h-on/16 may be a good compromise balancing operational demands. However, submarines complex challenging environments study there need expand More research needed. Future should focus on performance measures, such as problem-solving, prioritisation executive decision-making address shortcomings, examination countermeasures assist adaptation either initiated pre-deployment or by modifying environment itself considered.

Distinct from Earth’s environment, space environmental factors mainly include radiation, microgravity, hypomagnetic field, and disrupted light/dark cycles that cause physiological changes in astronauts. Numerous studies have demonstrated can lead to muscle atrophy, bone loss, carcinogenesis, immune disorders, vascular function cognitive impairment. Most current ground-based focused on single factor biological effects. To promote manned exploration, a better understanding of the effects spaceflight environment is necessary. This paper summarizes latest research progress combined double or multiple mammalian cells, discusses their possible molecular mechanisms, with hope providing scientific theoretical basis develop appropriate countermeasures for

Abstract The rodent running‐wheel recording apparatus is a reliable approach for studying circadian rhythm. This study demonstrated how to construct simple and intelligent system. running wheel was attached the cage's base, whereas Hall sensor cover. Then, RJ25 adaptor relayed signal main control board. Finally, board connected USB port of computer with connection. Data were collected using online‐accessible, self‐created software Magturning. Through Magturning, generated data saved exported in real time. Afterward, device validated by collecting on locomotor activities mice under different light conditions. In conclusion, this new can record activity rodents. Our appropriate interdisciplinary investigations related biological clock research.

Abstract Background: This study investigates the impact of blue light-emitting diode (LED) lighting on physiological responses Wistar rats. The circadian system plays a vital role in regulating functions, allowing organisms to anticipate and adapt environmental rhythms. synchronization endogenous clocks with external cues, such as light-dark cycles, is essential for optimal performance. However, emerging technologies, like LED lighting, present new challenges rhythms, highlighting need continued research this area. Methods: study, approved by Animal Ethics Committee, involved total 12 male rats, which were divided into two groups: Control group light (BL) treated group, each consisting six BL model was established subjecting rats h exposure daily period 3 months. Half sacrificed at end period, while remaining transitioned normal (NL) conditions another months before being euthanized. Blood tissue samples collected analysis, including measurements body weight, blood glucose, insulin, melatonin, lipid profile, well messenger RNA expression reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction global DNA methylation enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: found that led higher monthly increase elevated glucose levels, decreased insulin melatonin levels compared controls. also caused decrease cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein. Gene analysis revealed downregulation Period1, Cryptochrome1, brain muscle arnt-like protein 1 (Bmal1) hypothalamus, significant upregulation upon returning NL conditions. induced hypermethylation sequences, partially reverted after Conclusion: Our reveals broad BL/artificial contributing incidence obesity metabolic disorders.
