Considerando o aumento do número de casos câncer, em especial câncer mama, fica evidente a necessidade identificar fatores risco modificáveis da doença. Estudos relataram uma associação inversa entre status vitamina D e mama através redução densidade mamográfica, um conhecido fator câncer. O objetivo deste trabalho é definir se há mamográfica esta pode reduzir mama. Foi realizada revisão integrativa literatura, com os descritores Ciências Saúde “Vitamin D” AND “Mammographic Density” nas seguintes bibliotecas virtuais: MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS SCIELO. Os estudos que avaliaram relação têm achados heterogêneos; uns mostram pacientes níveis séricos normais D, outros, não. Contudo, dosagem insuficiente não deve ser desconsiderada, especialmente devido seu efeito comprovadamente importante na formação óssea homeostase cálcio.
