Abstract Purpose Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the most common sexually transmitted disease, in males and females worldwide. While role of HPV female diseases well known largely studied, have negligibly been included these programs, also because proportion women suffering dying from HPV-related much larger than men. The aim this review to focus on male patients. Methods We performed a literature analysis electronic database PubMed. considered randomized trials, observational retrospective studies, original articles having as topic relationship between following items: oral, anal penile cancers, warts, condylomas, infertility, altered sperm parameters, anti-sperm antibodies (ASA). experimental vitro studies focused effects oocyte fertilization, blastocyst development, trophoblastic cell invasiveness. This study reports a comprehensive review clinical trials registered public databases reported literature (PubMed/Medline, Scopus, ISI web science databases). Of 55 identified, majority (83.3%) were conducted after 2015, which 77.7% performed United States alone. Recently, it been reported that there are 3 genetically distinct and clinically significant subtypes VSCC: HPV-associated VSCC, HPV-independent/p53 wild-type HPV-independent/p53-mutated VSCC. Each group different prognostic implications well response to treatment, thus reinforcing need for this 3-tier molecular classification.
