Abstract We call for a reevaluation of the long-standing dogmatic nutritional principle that “all foods fit” all cases eating disorders (EDs) and its corollary, “there are no bad foods” (for anyone ever) during ED treatment. Based on accumulated scientific research, we challenge these ideologies as outdated, confusing, potentially harmful to many patients. review evidence indicates folly assumptions show there variety exceptions rules, including (1) food allergies, sensitivities, intolerances, (2) religious spiritual preferences or doctrines, (3) ubiquitous emergence widespread availability ultra-processed leading potential development addiction-like higher prevalence various medical psychiatric comorbidities, well mortality. This supports psychiatry approach should be integrated into (rather than dissociated from) treatment research practice.

The thyroid gland regulates most of the physiological processes. Environmental factors, including climate change, pollution, nutritional changes, and exposure to chemicals, have been recognized impact function health. Thyroid disorders cancer increased in last decade, latter increasing by 1.1% annually, suggesting that environmental contaminants must play a role. This narrative review explores current knowledge on relationships among factors anatomy function, reporting recent data, mechanisms, gaps through which act. Global warming changes living both iodine-poor areas volcanic regions can represent threat favor cancers because low iodine intake heavy metals radon. Areas with high nitrate nitrite concentrations water soil also negatively affect function. Air particularly particulate matter outdoor air, worsen be carcinogenic. endocrine-disrupting chemicals alter many ways, as some mimic and/or disrupt hormone synthesis, release, action target tissues, such bisphenols, phthalates, perchlorate, per- poly-fluoroalkyl substances. When discussing diet nutrition, there is evidence microbiome-associated an elevated consumption animal fat would associated production autoantibodies. There negative effects microplastics. Finally, infectious diseases significantly function; recently, lessons learned from SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Understanding how influence crucial for developing preventive strategies policies guarantee appropriate development healthy metabolism new generations preventing disease adults elderly. There is growing global concern about the shift to earlier onset of puberty among girls; however, prevalences precocious and normal variant Thai girls are uncertain. We conducted a study at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok from 2018 2022 (amid coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic) investigate prevalence, characteristics, treatment early large cohort girls. The medical records 583 who had been evaluated for were reviewed. Demographic clinical approaches analyzed. analyses found significant annual increase evaluations signs (P-value trend 0.04). majority (71.2%) cases categorized as gonadotropin-releasing-hormone (GnRH)-dependent or central (CPP), with 16 showing abnormal brain magnetic resonance imaging findings. Among puberty, was most common category (10.5%), followed by premature thelarche (9.5%), slow-progressive (6.6%), adrenarche (2.2%). Median age presentation, basal luteinizing hormone (LH) follicle-stimulating (FSH), bone differed significantly groups. Importantly, 97% CPP received GnRH agonists. Girls exhibited higher body mass index z-scores LH FSH compared those puberty. Our highlighted impact obesity on pubertal timing. findings underscore need preventive weight management country-specific guideline updates enhance healthcare strategies young

Abstract Thyroid cancer is considered as one of the most prevalent cancers in world. Some pesticides can play a role potentially important risk factor thyroid by affecting morphology and hormone homeostasis. The aim present study was to systematically review available epidemiological evidence for human exposure cancer. Articles were searched PubMed, Scopus Web Science suitable keywords from January 2000 May 2021. Standard techniques systematic reviews followed current results reported according Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Based on inclusion exclusion criteria, finally seven studies including four cohort three case-control reviewed. Breast milk is the main source of nutrition during early life, but both infant formulas (Ifs; up to 12 months) and baby foods (BFs; 3 years) are also important for providing essential nutrients. The food industry rigorously controls potential physical, biological, chemical hazards. Although thermal treatments commonly used ensure safety in IFs BFs, they can negatively affect sensory qualities, reduce thermosensitive nutrients, lead contaminant formation. To address these challenges, non-thermal processing technologies such as high-pressure processing, pulsed electric fields, radio frequency, ultrasound offer efficient pathogen destruction similar traditional methods, while reducing production key process-induced toxicants furan 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural (HMF). These alternative processes aim overcome drawbacks methods retaining their advantages. This review paper highlights growing global demand healthy, sustainable foods, driving manufacturers adopt innovative techniques BFs. Based on various studies reviewed this work, application novel appears intensity, resulting products with enhanced properties, comparable shelf improved visual appeal compared conventionally processed products.

The associations between VOCs and sex hormones in adolescents remain unclear, the role of serum albumin these deserves to be explored. We conducted cross-sectional analyses using generalized linear models (GLMs), weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression, mediation analysis, based on data from 584 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). GLM revealed that seven kinds mVOCs potentially affected hormone levels. According WQS regression results, 2-aminothiazoline-4-carboxylic acid (ATCA) was major contributor significant mixed mVOC exposure with testosterone, estradiol, free androgen index males; N-acetyl-S-(N-methylcarbamoyl)-L-cysteine (AMCC) hormone-binding globulin N-acetyl-S-(benzyl)-L-cysteine (BMA) ratio testosterone estradiol females. Population growth drives food industries to seek large-scale production technologies, often involving organic compounds that can negatively impact the environment. One example is 17α-methyltestosterone (17MT), a hormone used masculinize Nile tilapia, genetically changing females phenotypically males. Endocrine disruptors such as 17MT cause harm health, affecting and reproduction of organisms, persist in environment leading compromise chains due bioaccumulation. Different techniques for quantifying removing 17MT, advanced oxidative processes, nanofiltration systems wetlands, have been developed order minimize impacts on environment, biota human beings, search balance productivity sustainability. The objective this work was carry out bibliographical research endocrine disruptor including characterization, its occurrence possible effects health.
