Depression is a prevalent mental disorder that significantly diminishes quality of life and longevity, ranking as one the primary causes disability globally. Contemporary research has explored potential pathogenesis depression from various angles, encompassing genetics, neurotransmitter systems, neurotrophic factors, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, inflammation, intestinal flora, among other contributing factors. In addition, conventional chemical medications are plagued by delayed onset action, persistent adverse effects, restricted therapeutic efficacy. light these limitations, approach traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) gained increasing recognition for its superior effectiveness. Numerous pharmacological clinical studies have substantiated TCM’s capacity to mitigate depressive symptoms through diverse mechanisms. This article attempts summarize mechanisms involved in describe characteristics herbal medicines (including compounded formulas active ingredients) treatment depression. It further evaluates their effectiveness correlating with multifaceted depression, thereby furnishing reference future endeavors.

Objectives: Amidst rising global burden of depression and the associated challenges with conventional antidepressant therapies, there is a growing interest in exploring efficacy safety alternative treatments. This study uses Bayesian network meta-analysis to rigorously evaluate therapeutic potential Chinese herbal medicines treatment depression, focusing on their comparative against standard pharmacological interventions. Methods: Five databases (PubMed, Wanfang Data, EMBASE, CNKI, Cochrane Library) grey literature were searched from inception end July 2023 identify studies that assessed treating depression. The response rate, Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) scores, rates adverse events through both direct indirect comparisons. Data extraction risk bias assessment meticulously performed. Statistical analysis used Markov chain Monte Carlo methods, effect size estimates provided as odd ratios 95% confidence intervals. Results: A total 198 RCTs involving 8,923 patients analyzed, assessing 17 medicines. Surface Under Cumulative Ranking results indicated top three treatments best rate possibly Guipiwan , Ease Pill Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction ; reduction HAMD scores Chai Hu Shu Gan San Xingnao Jieyu Xiaoyao Powder lowest effects Alprazolam . Interestingly, commonly synthetic drugs such Fluoxetine Escitalopram Amitriptyline Sertraline Flupentixol Melitracen Venlafaxine not only appeared be less effective than specific ( Mai Da Zao Danzhi-Xiaoyao-San ), but they also related substantially higher events. Conclusion: Our findings elucidate promising viable alternatives certain herbs demonstrating enhanced profiles. outcomes this advocate for integration these modalities into contemporary management paradigms. The link between the mind and cardiac disease has been studied throughout ages. Patients diagnosed with ischemic heart may develop psychological psychiatric symptoms such as depressed mood, anxiety, insomnia that can drastically affect life quality. Unfortunately, during rehabilitation, there is a lack of care. To improve patient’s quality life, this intriguing relationship depression must be closely monitored, because risk factors pathophysiological mechanisms common. This case report article about 47-year-old Romanian woman acute coronary syndrome revascularized angioplasty stent implantation 3 months ago, admitted to Arad Emergency County Clinical Hospital, Psychiatric Department, depressive symptoms. Our patient was treated an antidepressant, anxiolytic, mood stabilizer, hypnotic, nootropic, aspirin, dual platelet inhibition, beta-blocker, converting enzyme inhibitor, statin, oral antidiabetics medication, well having psychotherapy sessions. treatment tolerated, improvement in social professional functionality patient. In conclusion, people have higher developing depression, but patients also disease. confirms importance individualized multidisciplinary approach management collaboration psychiatrists cardiologists additional benefit patients. pave way for further research into association disorders, which could provide significant advantages Interdisciplinarity contributes development innovative techniques prevention treatment, reducing worldwide morbidity mortality.

Background: Citrus reticulata Blanco essential oil (CBEO) has attracted increasing attention as a potential treatment for depression and anxiety in recent years. However, there is limited evidence regarding the active compounds responsible its therapeutic effects. In addition, substantial amounts of CBEO prolonged therapy are often required. This study aims to investigate rapid acting antidepressant anxiolytic effects CBEO, identify underlying composition well optimize dosage duration. Methods: was determined using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS), corresponding targets were obtained from SwissTargetPrediction database. Background . Multiple complicated interactions exist between sleep and epilepsy – activating effect on emerging epileptic seizures, altered pattern due to activity, antiepileptic drugs impact in patients, as well comorbidity of disorders epilepsy. Objective : exploring a literature-based relationship approaches the diagnosis treatment Material methods Current literature review examined data presented analysis assessing sleep. Publications were searched electronic databases PubMed/MEDLINE eLibrary using key words phrases: “epilepsy”, “sleep”, “antiepileptic drugs”, “sleep disorders”, “insomnia”, “obstructive apnea syndrome”, “restless legs “depression”, “anxiety”, “non-psychotic mental disorders” Russian English. Results A revealed complex relationships disorders. Epileptic especially at night, can fragment sleep, reducing its restorative potential provoking higher seizure incidence severity. It was also shown that different (AEDs) have ambiguous effects patterns: sedative AEDs may improve but cause excessive daytime sleepiness if dosage timing administration are inappropriate. Challenges differential highlighted, requiring multidisciplinary approach difficulty distinguishing symptoms caused by both activity side associated psychiatric To address these issues, an algorithm for correction patients proposed, aimed optimizing therapy improving quality life this patient cohort. Conclusion Sleep with lead formation “vicious circle” worsen course diseases, therefore, it is necessary ensure their timely correction.
