Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are an important component of the tumor microenvironment (TME) and most abundant population immune cells infiltrating a tumor. TAMs can largely determine direction anti-tumor response. promote it or, conversely, contribute to formation immunosuppressive TME that allows tumors evade control. Cellular survival hinges on a delicate balance between accumulating damages and repair mechanisms. In this intricate equilibrium, oxidants, currently considered physiological molecules, can compromise vital cellular components, ultimately triggering cell death. On the other hand, cells possess countermeasures, such as autophagy, which degrades recycles damaged molecules organelles, restoring homeostasis. Lysosomes their enzymatic arsenal, including cathepsins, play critical roles in balance, influencing cell’s fate toward either apoptosis mechanisms of regulated death or autophagy. However, interplay reactive oxygen species (ROS) cathepsins these life-or-death pathways transcends simple cause-and-effect relationship. These elements directly indirectly influence each other’s activities, creating complex web interactions. This review delves into inner workings highlighting pivotal role ROS interplay.

Introduction The aging process is frequently associated with a decline in functional capacity, endurance, muscle quality, and overall quality of life. Examining aging-related biomarkers often requires significant time financial resources, underscoring the need for straightforward practical indicator. This study aims to investigate association between handgrip strength laboratory parameters elderly population Indonesia. Methods A cross-sectional was conducted involving 109 participants aged 60–82 years. Handgrip measured using Jamar hydraulic hand dynamometer PLUS+ digital dynamometer. Aging-related were defined as those indicating physiological processes. Results revealed several parameters, including leukocyte count, absolute neutrophil lymphocyte neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio, erythrocyte sedimentation rate. Discussion These findings suggest that could serve cost-effective, non-invasive predictor health status older adults. Its utility highlights its potential guiding interventions targeting population.

Cellular senescence (aging) is a physiological process that plays role in tissue remodeling, wound healing, and embryogenesis. Prolonged of cells can have detrimental effects trigger secretory phenotype (SASP, senescence-associated phenotype), degenerative disorders, cancer, age-related diseases. PD1+T proportions (PD1+T%), baseline demographics and clinical data recorded hospital discharge. AECOPD re-admission collected 1-year follow-up. Kaplan-Meier analysis compared time readmissions among groups stratified by PD1+T%.
