Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common and multifactorial endocrine disease among women of reproductive age. Aberrant folliculogenesis a pathological characteristic PCOS, but underlying molecular mechanism remains unclear. Emerging evidence indicated that aberrant expression long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) may contribute to pathogenesis PCOS. In this study, we found lncRNA PKD1P6 was remarkably down-regulated in ovarian granulosa cells (GCs) hyperandrogenic PCOS (HA-PCOS) patients negatively correlated with serum testosterone (T) levels. We further showed overexpression markedly reduced cell viability, attenuated DNA synthesis capacity, arrested cycle at G0/G1 phase promoted apoptosis KGN cells. Exosomes derived from exerted similar effects on function Mechanistically, could act as competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) by directly binding miR-135b-5p. Overexpression significantly suppressed ERK1/2 activation, whereas up-regulation miR-135b-5p an opposing effect. Additionally, excessive androgen diminish while promote models vitro vivo. Collectively, our findings delineate clinical significance HA-PCOS new regulatory mechanisms involved abnormal folliculogenesis, providing promising therapeutic target for HA-PCOS.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine heterogeneous reproductive disorder. This metabolic disease affects around 5–10% of women and accounts for 75% anovulatory infertility all over world. The complexity as manifested by involvement multiple underlying mechanisms lack specific sensitive biomarkers, make it difficult to timely manage treat disease. Remarkably, genetic, epigenetics, environmental variations may contribute considerably pathogenicity PCOS. Recent investigations indicated that non-coding RNAs (ncRNA) were involved in occurrence development Thus, this chapter aimed summarize current knowledge expression dysregulation ncRNA human

Objective: The aim of this narrative review is to summarize studies examining the relationship between microparticulate air pollution (MAP) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Mechanism: PCOS increasingly regarded as an evolutionary mismatch disorder that manifests in women due exposure a range lifestyle environmental factors. Although underlying causes remain debated, factors such endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDC), may contribute its pathogenesis their well-documented hormonal metabolic effects. MAP another significant has been associated with variety chronic diseases, well adverse effects, including PCOS. Chronic low-grade inflammation insulin resistance (IR) are key pathophysiological features have inhalation ingestion MAP. Findings Brief: Our search identified four systematically examined One population-based cohort study showed increased risk various pollutants, A second decreased increasing levels exposure, while longer duration was third found conception rates were lower exposed second-hand smoke (SHS) compared non-exposed women. In contrast, fourth reported pollutants not reduced pregnancy outcomes. These data suggest both concentration be important factors, reproductive outcomes could affected by through cigarette smoke. Conclusions: Preliminary PCOS, although available evidence remains inconsistent. Nevertheless, current supports advising avoid SHS whenever possible. This highlights need for further research on effects
